Every time a site gets a new look, it seems like everything takes up more space and the site is harder to use. Or if it looks OK, there are major deficiencies in how it works. Disney+ looks fine, but it can't seem to keep track of watch history, and if you are on a PC, you can't use tabs reliably for some reason. Every large website should have basic features and a unique, functional design. It must be management that looks at the shitty redesign trend and feels like their site needs to keep up. In a previous life as a digital marketer for creative design agencies, I sat in too many meetings where the goal of a website redesign was fluffy things like "space, brand, intuitive", and not things I care about like "where are the tools and how many clicks does it take to use them".
