It was $366.10 for two weeks of work

I felt like I could buy anything

Now my checks are over $1000 a week and I feel like I can't buy anything

Adulthood sucks

first actual paycheck for being a paperboy was 56$ a month not including a few tips. 5$ here and there.
held the job for 8 months in middle school but then the work turned sloppy.

what sucked is they charged for plastic bags, rubber bands and carrier bag if needed those.
used up so many bags if it rained plenty in the month check was lower.

My first paycheck was $128.72. My last paycheck was $410.91. Hooray, I'm still poor.

I don't remember how much my checks were, but I remember being so excited that I could buy frappuccinos with my own money before class.

But yeah, I remember thinking when I was a NEET how amazing it would be to have like $300 to spend on anything I want. Now that I can spend $300 on whatever I want I don't spend it on shit. Seems a little poetic that I'm spending my life chasing after something that's becoming increasingly less valuable to me.

I've never had a paycheck where I could just blow the money lol. Ever since I started working I had to help with bills.

edit - but I did win the gamefaqs summer contest 16 years ago and got like a $400 amazon gift card -- actually that would still be badass

I remember being furious as a teenager working in fast food where I got like 399.90 for a damn near 70 hours of work after taxes and deductions. That many hours to not even break 400? Man fuck fast food jobs, that's why I'm always nice to them when I go

this topic speaks to me on so many levels.

16 years old, working as a cashier at Pathmark after school. That first $300 check was sweeettttttt.

Had my parents drive me right to Target to get some new PS3 games. Those were the days...

My first big purchase was a Nintendo Wii. It was back when you couldn't find the damn things anywhere because each store would only get like 12 of them in a shipment and they'd be gone within half an hour of the truck showing up so I got it on eBay for $350.

I still have it, but haven't touched it in years. I don't even think Netflix works on them anymore.

I didn't get a proper paycheck until I got an office job. All the work I did prior I was paid in cash under the table

My first "paycheck" was like $200 in cash. That was aces

Yeah, I feel the same. I make just over $1000 per check, but rent and car insurance around here is too damn expensive.

Also, the price of everything is going up, but wages have basically flatlined.
