Have you ever worked with, for, or had someone work for you that was insanely entitled?

I worked normal jobs until I was almost 30 and while I did see a few instances (Secretaries at a warehouse I ran shipping and handling who didn't want to do anything but play solitaire when they were not answering phones), I never really saw anything extreme till I started working with attorneys.

I have worked many salaried positions before, and in general you tend to have to work more then 40 hours a week for most of them (at least the ones I ever had lol).

I knew one attorney who literally didn't want to work at all. She only wanted to appear before the judge, had someone actually drive her to any appearances and had the legal secretaries do all the paper work/research.

She did eventually get fired, because she refused to come into the office before going to court if it was in the afternoon (and always went home from court if she did appear). She had no respect for the head of the office where she worked because the head of the office was not a litigating attorney, but more of an office manager.

I believe her salary was around 70k or so, and she wanted to basically spend 10-15 minutes a day or so in front of a judge (along with being driven to court) to earn that. She was quite good in court though, so they put up with her for quite awhile (over a year I believe).

I am friendly with everyone, and so got to know her a bit, and it wasn't just the job she was working, but her whole life. She complained because her parents only bought her a new car while she was still in HS because they needed her to drive her mother to work some days.

I have heard of parents buying kids a car, I think it may even be somewhat common in some circles, but I can't imagine buying a new one for them is.

Anyway, have you ever worked with someone who was so entitled you couldn't really believe it even while you were watching it go on? Maybe your that person and didn't realize it till later?

Actually more male attorneys seem that way to me, I was just using a specific example because I worked with her. I didn't really know (or at least remember) many in the years I worked as an electronic tech, in sales, ran S&H etc, and I kinda saw it a bit in some teachers (they would give otu homework but not grade it, left right after school, spent no time on lesson plans etc, and still complained).

There were plenty of attorneys that were not though, and some I felt so sorry for. One in particular worked at a water processing plan while going through Law school (to pay for it), she got hired at the law firm me and my wife worked at, for $30k a year (was the going rate at the time for new attorneys with no experience). This was less than she had been making.

She was just treated like crap by most of the other attorneys, just using her as basically a legal secretary, she eventually gave up after a year (she was working 50+ hours every week, and never got to even go to court let alone argue a case). She went back to her old job after spending all that time and money (and passing the bar as well).

There was (probably still is) a massive glut of attorneys in CA at the time though, so sadly that wasn't that uncommon. Was very hard to start off as an attorney because so many more experienced attorneys were looking for positions.

Reading this topic makes it seem like attorneys are quite the hazzle.
They do get forced to defend dangerous criminals so maybe thats why they are like that sometimes?

Yes, but they were put into place via nepotism so that sense of entitlement was warranted. Unless the company was sold, they'd have a job for life. And if the company was sold, they'd still probably wouldn't have to worry about money.

Granted, some owners' kids and other relatives are hard-workers.... and there were a few multi-millionaires' daughters I wanted to work hard. Get that bitch preggers and then marry into money via a shotgun wedding.

I've known a few people like them, most of them bosses with no interest in actually leading, only giving orders (some of them nonsensical or self-contradictory).

I apparently replaced an entitled, racist, sexist asshole at my work that had been fired a few weeks before I came in for my interview, and I heard a deal about the guy I replaced from a few co-workers that had to deal with him. I heard he found a job somewhere without the offered benefits, and he wasn't liking actually having to, you know, work for his hours and earn his pay unlike what he'd been doing for years at the place I'm at now.

Earn your worth and show your value, my friends, or the reasonable majority of people aren't going to like you.

When youre the around the same age, sure. But youre like 40-60 so youre just golddigging and you went into the relationship solely to get money. You said it yourself,

That makes no sense. If anything, you have it reversed since people are accused of marrying those OLDER than themselves for money.

It makes sense in the context I was responding to. When you're roughly the same age, marrying someone with money makes sense as you're likely marrying the person for reasons other than money and that the money is just a happy accident.

Golddigging can work either way. Older women digging into younger men. Younger women digging into older men. Younger men digging into older women. Older men digging into younger women.

When you're "thousands of years" old, dating and knocking-up a woman in her teens/twenties/thirties is goddamn creepy and lecherous. Then again, you're "Zeus". The [pronoun] that impregnated his own sister/offspring/horse/etc.

Which still makes no sense. People are generally inclined to pick younger partners. Men picking older partners is the aberration. If a younger person marries a significantly older one, people suspect they did it for money. Otherwise golddigging has zero correlation with age and it's stupid to pretend otherwise

Wanting to fuck young, attractive women is natural for men. I still screw 18 year-olds and, deep down, you know you probably would if you could. Promiscuity with partners of one age vs another age doesn't magically make it any more lecherous. You always pretend to be so liberal yet you're sitting here trying to enforce some moral order regarding sex.

You just described the history of America in a nutshell. Remember in those colonies that would become America, those tobacco planters didn't want to work because they thought of themselves as "gentlemen of leisure" and as such they didn't do manual labor and this by the way can be researched in diaries from some of those who arrived in the Colonies whose diaries survived and are still readable.

They didn't want to harvest that tobacco and they did not want to pay anyone so they used indentured servitude for a while but then they realized paying someone's passage here cost them money so that's when they decided to introduce slavery.

More like re-introduce, and even then, some systems (like serfdom) were even worse, or at least as bad. Slavery is rampant in the history of humanity sadly. It's actually much more rare for there not to be slaves (or a similar system where people are considered worthless and used like animals (or in some cases less than animals).

I'm of course not proposing slavery was good, just that it wasn't exactly unknown at the time either.

I have had coworkers that were pretty entitled. The worst were actually some of the other students I have had in my classes

The girl who got caught cheating after a huge amount of copy/patste on a paper, but it wasn't fair to throw her out because her mother had been writing ALL of her essays. It wasn't the student that violated the rules after all.

Bought her the car she wanted in the color she wanted. Hell, one of her parents would even come in early in the morning to park in the parking lot to "hold a spot" for her so she didn't have to walk far when she came in for her classes.

She'd come to class, play on her phone, contribute nothing to any discussions and just generally waste time.

I have alot of younger friends (in their 20's and early 30's) and they keep telling me that there are alot of girls who are in their early 20's etc, that really like older men lol. I have seen evidence of it myself. I wouldn't date someone in their 20's, but I am considering dating eventually and maybe dating someone in their 30's who has children who are 9+ (making it fairly likely they will be 18+ before I croak lol).

Anyway, I totally believe Zeus could be having sex at least (and possibly dating) 18 year olds. Also, if he takes after his namesake at all, he pretty much has to.
