I feel like RDR wins this pretty easily. I think I'd take Galaxy 2 over Fallout 4 just by default, but who knows. It lost to ME1 last time.

I'm pretty confident in Galaxy 2 > RDR. RDR feels like the kind of game that falls off a cliff here once it gets old enough, while non-Nintendo Smash tends to hold strong. I'm not sure what to expect from FFXV, and Fallout has kinda dropped off in general lately?

I just don't trust Galaxy 2 or Fallout 4. It's possible I'm missing something there or NintendoFAQs will just rule the day.

FFXV has no chance here as much as I hate to say it.

I wouldn't trust those 2015 numbers, but that could be me. there were a ton of weird matches in that bracket, especially towards the end, and I felt like the last character contest really upheaved a lot. actually, I would barely look at 2015 for anything at this point.

well it's almost impossible to compare games in the 2015 contest due to all the rallying screwing with the numbers so I wouldn't trust many of those X-Stat results

I'm just looking at individual results and seeing what looks more impressive to me

it got beat by Witcher 3 pretty easily

but Witcher 3 is a game that got stronger over time. Especially now with switch release.

mass effect 2 is much stronger. IT got an horrible pic disasvsntage in its last match.

I agree with this to an extent but I think Galaxy 2 enjoys a prestigious reputation and Fallout 4 is too maligned/Fallout is in a weird place these days

RDR over Galaxy 2 might happen though, I wouldn't be too surprised

FFXV is probably a joke and Fallout 4 likely lost any strength it could have had when Fallout 76 ended up being the gong show of the decade. I'd assume Galaxy 2 can beat RDR because Nintendo. The more time passes the less and less GameFAQs seems to support anything that isn't Nintendo.

Galaxy 2 > Red Dead Redemption quite comfortably IMO; the former has simply held up better on GameFAQs than the latter. Fallout 4 vs. Final Fantasy XV would be an interesting match, but alas, that's not what we have here.

We can handle this two ways:

One is 2015, where we need indirect results to gain a definitive read on the two games' strength, compared. Smash Wii U was probably only a bit weaker than MGS in 2015, and Galaxy 2 managed 44% on the former indirectly, versus RDR's 37.5% on the latter indirectly.

The other is simply that Galaxy 2 is a Nintendo game versus a Rockstar game that had a relatively recent direct sequel. It's possible that RDR could prevail anyways, I suppose; I'm not super high on Galaxy 2, I just think it doesn't quite need to be a top 10 game in the field to prevail here.

Sure, and it probably won't be worth much now, but I think it's hard to argue 35% on FF7 in 2015 was substantially worse than what MGS would have scored indirectly back then.

Red Dead just isn't a popular franchise here. It only gets votes due to Respect i guess.

If this was an even playing field where the site wasn't dominated by Nintendo fans yeah RDR would absolutely crush SMG2.

I don't put much stock in those favorite polls, but Galaxy 2 doing so poorly in the Mario polls is surprising because that game feels like the definition of a fan favourite. it's got good competition so that's a valid excuse, but still. getting beat down by Galaxy 1 and Sunshine isn't encouraging, especially since Galaxy 1 also kinda sucked last time round.

Yeah, that's the thing. Galaxy 2 isn't going to be stronger than Galaxy 1, which isn't that great to start with. Galaxy 2's biggest problem is that it came out after most of this site had already given up on the Wii.

Galaxy 1 broke 40% on a game that went even with the previous GotD. I dont think that was bad at all.
