One of the only games that I have actually sat down and played start to finish in years, the movement really is about the most fun of any game I've played and the combat is top notch. Really fluid and intuitive all around.

One cool thing about video games is that they have the best adaptations of both Spider-Man and Batman.

Yuri Lowenthal was literally perfect as the voice of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. That ending scene with Aunt May, holy shit. This guy nailed basically every aspect of the character.

Its funny when people wonder why he gets so many big roles, then games like this come out and theyre reminded why youd want someone experienced for the big deals.

Tara Platt as the lieutenant lady (forgot her name rn) was really good too

I hope the second game skips the towers, backpacks, and photo landmarks.

Just stick with main mission stories and side missions that incorporate landmarks.

For example, instead of me taking a picture of central park, maybe have something going down at central park like a mugging or something.

Speaking of Batman, Spiderman makes Arkham Knight look much worse now in almost every aspect of its open world gameplay and writing.

Or both. I liked the picture activities, but it would be nice to incorporate a point system so you have to experiment to find thr best angles.

I enjoyed the big combat missions, the warehouses and construction sites and bases, more than I expected that I would. I'd like to have more of those in the next game with more challenges to force you to weave gadget usage in while beating the stuffing out of waves of dudes.

What's funny about this is they're married IRL, which I like to convince myself is why the characters play off each other so well.

i thought is was good but not great, a little overrated. Thought mgsv was a much better game. Though i think most ps4 players would think otherwise.

My only real criticism was that every random crime in New York apparently involves large gangs of people. I'm totally fine with webbing up a single mugger in a few seconds and moving on.

I platinumed it in like a week. lol I couldn't stop playing. Though the final boss glitched out on me and I couldn't beat that time.

Yeah, a little more variety in that regard would be nice. Have single thieves running through crowds that you have to target and web without making them drop what they're carrying or something.

I got about halfway through and just got bored out of my mind with it.

The bosses were the most disappointing part. I think all of them except one required the same pattern of throw thing at them / web them up/beat them up. There really wasn't much creativity outside set pieces.

Even taskmaster whose whole point is that he knows all your moves and strats is beaten the same way all the other bosses are.

Oh yeah I loved both Prototype games, and Crackdown as well. Open world superhero games are fantastic.

I think the flaw with the Arkham style combat in general is that it doesn't really work well for bosses as it's more designed for dealing with groups of enemies.

Insomniac makes great games. I didn't LOVE Spiderman but it was fun and I hope this opens more doors for that team to make more great games.

It's similar combat styles but the higher level of mobility in Spider-Man made it feel like I could be more offensive than strictly having to be in counter mode the entire time. Like I had more freedom to strike a few times and dip away, zip between enemies doing web strikes, go up high to come down with slams, etc.

Its a great game. Boss fights and side missions could have been better. The sections of the game where you play as other characters arent very good.

Cant wait for the sequel.

To be fair, if I were a criminal in the same city as Spider-Man and the Avengers, I'd definitely grab a few buddies before doing random crimes.

I love and hate that I can switch suits at almost any time

I keep going back and forth on which one I want to use most. Just unlocked the Iron Spider from Infinity War so I'll probably be using that one for awhile, but I was going with Scarlet Spider and the other Iron one, I think Mk III? Kind of looks like Deathstroke

I just picked up a PS4 recently and this was one of the first games I popped in. I agree. It's been one of the few games in recent years where I have to keep playing. They do so much right its hard to complain about the stuff they stumble on

I'm so close to 100% all the dlc

A sequel will be incredible

The greatest part about the combat is that it can evolve and be more flashy entirely depending on the player. Look at an experienced Spider-Man player as an example:

It's truly a favorite. Swinging around in between missions is pretty awesome too once you get pretty fluid with the controls.

That video is a great example of what I meant when I said that the higher mobility let me feel like I could be a lot more offensive than in an Arkham game and still be effective.

I honestly need to give this game another try.

I found Infamous Second Son to be more enjoyable compared to the time I spent with Spiderman.
