Veronica is my favorite overall. I like Jade a lot too because it's hilarious making her a crit machine, but she's kind of one of the more boring characters story-wise.

I never use Jade in battle and the game never uses Jade in story.

Veronica's not too far behind, with #8 a bit behind her. Jade is cool on the surface but super boring storywise.

Sylvando and #8 make a fantastic duo though and would take the two of them together over any other pair.

My full ranking looks something like this: Veronica > Sylvando > Serena/Luminary > Erik/#8 > Rab/Jade

Based on gameplay alone, it would be more like Veronica > The Rest > Rab, though even he was fun to use at points.

To be honest, I thought Sylvando would commandingly win this poll. The Jade love is also somewhat surprising to me; while she's fun in battles, so is pretty much everyone else, and I felt like she was just kind of there otherwise.

Battle efficiency is kind of amazing in DQ11 since because the skill system progresses the way it does you have characters dancing in and out of the meta limelight as the story unfolds. Like Rab is a godly character who makes all other casters moot when you first get him and yet he bows out to those same characters later in the game. Or how Erik is solid dps, then borderline useless around the time Jade shows up, then becomes the best dps in the game further than that.

I definitely agree with this. For what it's worth, I found Veronica always fun and useful in battle, but she was around for less of the game than anyone else except maybe #8 (who was also always useful when around). Likewise, while Rab was relatively less useful than everyone else throughout act 3, he fills invaluable roles in battle for much of act 2.

Jade has easily the best introduction in the cast. She has like 5 straight scenes of being awesome. Then the timeskip happens and looooool Japan.

Last year we started with publishing the movie Dragon Quest: Your Story, then releasing the Switch version of Dragon Quest 11, the mobile version of DQ Walk, the announcement of The Adventure of Dai anime along with its game adaptation, the production of [DQ]12 and more; even now after 33 years have passed since I made the 1st game, I feel very glad that I can do new challenges like these. Thank you very much to all users who have cheered on Dragon Quest until now, and also to all of the many staff members who have supported me. I dont know how long I can go on, but I feel like I want to do my best just a little bit more. I hope this year will be an amazing year to everyone. Im looking forward to work together in this year.
