That and the Rodney King argument felt like something i'd hear today on twitter. The speech above felt like Trump saw the film and started using some of the key ideas and it may have helped him in 2016.

Why do you think the west flip flopped from mostly homophobic to mostly gay accepting exactly in line with the rise of the internet giving windows and communication into each others lives?

The United Methodist Church, one of the largest mainline Protestant churches in the US, is literally about to split over the gay marriage issue. I wouldnt say its exactly settled.

CAN change their hearts, but only if they want to. It's pretty easy to tell those who come in bad faith from those who are actually open and will sincerely consider your words and perspective.

Once somebody has slipped up and shown you their true colors, there's no reason to continue.

Your chances of changing a stranger's mind(especially on the internet) is slim to none because most people are married to their beliefs and are only interested in changing your mind instead. Even if it's just some type of emotional crutch for them to believe in nonsensical shit. Some cultures have survived on delusions of grandeur and blind faith alone, lol.

People being enlightened after being stuck in darkness is a noteworthy story because it's so rare in cases like this, but anecdotal evidence doesn't speak for the majority of interactions.

And nobody should have to live on the street or starve. Nobody should have to lock their front door.

It's not about whether or not you should. Its about good ideas vs bad ideas. If you want to oppose prejudice and help people, the most effective way Is to talk to people and change their minds.

Violence and screaming and deplatforming only empowers them and makes their cause feel stronger to them

I said flipped from mostly against to mostly for. And guess what, nearly all those against wont look at , talk to or humanize gay couples
