I think it was "I like my chances."

I remember the word chance.

The important thing is that I found the episodes more entertaining than not, which is all I expect from Star Wars.

Like, I cannot imagine complaining that a piece of Star Wars media has "bad writing" at this point.

I think after the movies from Disney people thought The Mandalorian looked like a work of art in comparison. I liked it, but it had issues. I mean Mandalorians are supposed to be the most fearsome badass warriors in the galaxy, and yet he got his ass kicked in every single episode. It's not like oh those were just stories either, they were always portrayed as badasses, a special forces team of one. Yet now it appears anyone can beat a Mandalorian.

I've legit seen complaints about it. It wasn't meant to be a jab at anyone in here, it was just me saying in general I can't complain about Star Wars having bad writing because very few pieces of Star Wars media have "good writing" to me. So like I'd agree with the 7/10 even though I really liked it I guess.

I just care about it being cool and not boring me, which for the most part Mandalorian was cool and didn't bore me.

I am not a star wars fan. I watched it because so many people were raving about it. I judged it on the merits I judge anything else on. It wasn't good in my eyes

It started out strong (the first 3 episodes), then it had 3 episodes of pretty meaningless filler, and then it ended pretty strong again in the final 2 episodes IMO.

It was solid and I enjoyed it throughout, but I've seen people trying to claim it's some of the best TV ever and that's just silly.

Did they ever follow up on who that mysterious dude was in episode 5? The one who found that Asian sniper lady's corpse at the end? I can't remember whether it was the Imperial Moff guy or not.

I realize this is just going to make me sound snobbish, and I do enjoy them, but any claim that something Star Wars or MCU related is "great television/film" is just silly to me
And it's said in earnest for many different things by different people

I genuinely consider A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back to be among some of my favorite films ever made.

But outside of those two, I'd tend to agree tbh.

I definitely agree about Marvel, and I also enjoy the majority of them.

7/10 is fair. Pretty middling and meandering for the most part but the finale was pretty good. Certainly better than the recent movies.

Honestly I think 7/10 is generous considering the show completely shit itself on two episodes, filled to the brim with filler segments with episodes that were not very long to begin with, and ended on what was an obviously rushed note since they wasted 1/4 of their slotted episodes

I like that everyone is new or that the story doesn't rely so heavily on already established characters and motifs.

Every time I watch SW I tell myself "The universe is so fucking big but you're telling me nothing important ever happens if it doesn't involve at least one of these same 3 people we keep coming back to."

There are so many more stories to be told, there is so much more going on that I am curious about, I don't need you guys to tie in Palp or Vader or Tatooine into every single thing in order for it to mean something.
