Shiva probably not happening still. and i still haven't farmed Mateus, just the 1 copy for the quest last week, so he could be an improvement over Machina, though maybe not until i magia him.

Finally killed Syldra 13 times, and am done with forever (aside from the weekly magicite where I only need the one kill). Got my Madeen with 2 mag boon 20s, and a Madeen with a mag boon 20 waiting for an attack boon 20 to be a hybrid. Never needed last stand more in a fight than I did against this stupid dragon serpent.

With that, only Adamantoise and Ark remain. My newly acquired Alphinaud AASB should help with the turtle, but still unsure how to take Ark down. Got Raines USB/AOSB, but need to see what else I have that could be remotely helpful. Have Ramza's chain at least.

Yeah it looks like complete overkill, and it was once everything got going, but the tough part was fitting everything in. Dispel for adamant guard and savage adamant guard and hastega for whatever move takes away haste at the start of phase 2. Thankfully he was murdered shortly into phase 3, so never saw the stun move, or any of the confuse moves. Will get my next 3 kills on him, and that should be all I'll need.

Ark's savage mode increase the damage he takes so a chain isn't necessary, well unless you plan to use Alphinaud's Awakening which will break it.

You can also get Minwu's ability double USB from Anima lens.

That's definitely good to know. I have Yuna's awakening, and Lunafreya's sync, which has a holy component to it, as well.

Mind. Summons and Raines stuff is magic based, having OK with mUSB helps a ton as it boosts both and doesn't get overwritten by savage eternal darkness

Is that because mUSB also raises resistance a small amount, so it's a different code? Either way, that's good because it boosts both, gives quick cast, and gives hastega. Ramza will be there to provide chain, and add to it. Maybe also toss in his USB1 if he gets a chance, as that has a boostga, and instant cast to everyone.

Almost got Ark once, but got hit with savage doomsday and died. The savage eternal darkness keeps dropping my damage also. I switched in Raines for Lunafreya, as he is more suited to this, but still couldn't get it done.

I took a look through my stuff, and realized I have Mog's BSB and AASB. I think they can both replace OK, and overwrite savage eternal darkness, if I use it correctly. Both the BSB and AASB raise magic and mind a moderate amount, which should be a strict override. If I open with the BSB, right after he uses eternal darkness, AASB after phase 2 eternal darkness, and BSB again at phase 3 eternal darkness, I'd be good to go. Just a lotta micromanagement.

Edit: I looked at the reddit thread. Turns out, savage eternal darkness also debuffs defense, so neither OK mUSB or Mog's AASB will overwrite it. I wonder if I can blink it.

Ark down in 42.03. Easily my slowest time. I think I still have to farm 6 more, but I'm taking my one win for the moment. It's interesting, the time I won, I did it without a chain. Brought in Y'shtola to blink the savage eternal darknesses with her USB1, used Alphinaud AASB and Raines BSB for DPS, Elarra USB1 and BSB for healing and last stand, and Mog for BSB and AASB boostga. Definitely a ragtag team, but it finally worked, after banging my head against him all day.

Dark Odin has finally been unlocked. Unsure which one to start with, but I have a pretty murderous Cloud, so likely wind weak. With Noctis SASB and AASB, could try for fire weak also.

Dark Odin is a pretty big leap over 5* Magicite, so don't feel discouraged if you can't beat him right away.

Last ticket gave me Qustis OSB and Arnea USB. Both new but at the same time mostly worthless. At least 10+ magic on Quistis is nice.

Also did the glint dream select because Ifrit is pissing me off.

after literally getting Elarra's USB1 from the daily draw during the 10-day-or-so period where i was definitely going to select it, but hadn't actually done so yet, i can't help but wait on those.

plus, this time it's actually a hard decision. on their own, Cloud and Lightning awakenings are definitely the best, but if i got their syncs i wouldn't really need their awakenings. meanwhile, Tidus, Zidane and Tifa would benefit much more from being able to combo them, and i like all of those characters more than Cloud and Lightning.

Are hybrid teams viable for dark Odin? I was thinking Lunafreya sync (paired with lunar leviathan) and Tidus AASB, as Bartz needs to cast his BSB to get enwater and Tidus doesnt, for water weak Odin.

Hybrid teams are fine for Odin, especially summons since they have high multipliers. You don't need to worry about enelement for now, that's 6* magicite's gimmick.

I would not start with water weak Odin though. He combines Phoenix's speed with Belias' damage. It'd be easier to start with earth, holy or ice weak Odin.

After getting Titan and skipping Ramuh, I managed to down Leviathan with my physical lightning tech, without picking Claire's AASB from the 100 mythril pick. Previously I had only managed to get to ~30%, but the free rage breaking from a 6 * magicite helps a lot more than I expected.

Since I don't have a direct need for Claire's AASB anymore, I picked Tidus AASB instead. Pretty confident I have enough to do Ifrit now.

I do have both of their AOSBs as well, as well as Rinoa's bUSB (though AASB will be primary of course). Is this something that should be aimed to be completed in one chain? Or should I drop chain early on, with the assumption that I'll be doing it again?

Good GOD was this fight infuriating!! It's by far the most anti-meta fight so far, and maaan was it tense! I also did the AOSB dream select earlier to get Meia's AOSB for this fight, and it paid off!

I also got Quina LMR (the last stand one), Luneth AOSB and Vincent chain from the grab bag. Finally I get Vincent's chain after hoping for it for two years now!

I can't tell, who's your middle character? Do you have AASBs for Meia/Strago/Gogo? If so and it still took a full minute... I'm really not looking forward to this fight.

That would be Penelo. Even with two healer Awakenings I still had to bring the healing RW, that's how bad this boss is.

I have Awakenings for Gogo and Meia, but not Strago. I don't think it would have been to much help anyway since the only way Strago can enwater is through his BSB or Awakening, I have to use both his OSB and AOSB at the right times.That said Awakenings (and dualcast LMRs) are really risky to because of their dualcasts, if you kill a pillar with one cast the second cast could kill another pillar and that character will take a lot of damage from the painflares. But Awakening's 15 seconds is only so much when you have to be careful about attacking the pillars. Glints were extremely valuable in this fight because they only cast once, so use them to kill pillars if your character's awakening is active.

You can't rush Ifrit down because he'll use his own painflare when he reaches a certain HP%, the more pillars the more the worse the attack is (if all 4 are there they're an instant KO!)

I got a rainbow off the daily, it was a dupe Minfilia glint though.

These week's 5* magicite mission is Manticore. I remember how frustrating this boss was and how I never wanted to fight him again after I got 4 of his magicite, but now I'm sub 20ing him with a level 30 Ifrit magicite.

I'm starting to wonder if my 5* magicite best times are better than my 4* magicite best times.

Well yeah that's because that DPS relic came out nearly a year after Manticore debuted.

Try fighting him without a chain, artifacts, synchros and awakenings. That's how I beat him the first four times, and it sure as hell wasn't easy.

That sounds insanely annoying. It seems like it might be worth unlocking all the HP nodes on the record board so you can tank more of those 4000 HP death counters. I'll be using a physical team when I get there so I should be able to get Tidus and Rikku pretty high HP. But I still need better healing first.

I'm pretty close to beating Titan with magic (I did physical before). But that last stage is pretty annoying and Fujin really suffers from her glint not giving enwind.

Starting to do a bunch of my magicite farming to get my decks set for Odin. Mainly need HP boons slotted into all my dampen magicites, as well as a couple others, so I need to farm a shit ton more Phoenix's. Got 3 done today. Kept my team mostly the same, but added in Rikku's glint+, imperil USB, and AASB to go along with her chain, and Tidus's AASB, to go along with his USB and bUSB. Realized I didn't really need Tyro, so gave Aeris shellga, and tossed OK in for Tyro. OK uses pUSB, then wrath, then entrust Aeris, who uses her USB2 right after explosive flame. From there, it's water murder, while making sure my party JUST stays alive. Shaved my best time from 20.20 to 16.10.

Now to farm him like, 40 more times (likely not even exaggerating that number).

Is triple empower worth it? Im planning on two of my HP boons to be on my double dampen and my blocker, and was thinking the third on a double empower magicite. Then Madeen atk/mag as the 4th, and a Madeen or Lakshmi mind/healing as a 5th.

I don't they are unless it's a boss you're having a really hard time breaking savage mode on.

Also if you're feeling daring enough to beat a 6* Magicite their passive makes 5* Magicite dampens almost obsolete if you don't want to beat around the bush.

Nice, I took down Titan with a magic team. Never have to fight this guy again. Although the sad thing is he already seems easy compared to the newer magicite. Staying alive isn't a challenge at all with just Elarra USB, the only challenge is breaking through the walls and dealing enough damage before you run out of time.

Anyone else going to get the 5 hit ice spellblade? I was going to at first but then I figured that the only character that would use it is Squall (no Sora or Stiener awakening, or Celes but she gets her own HA anyway) Figured I'll just wait on the next FF8 event for Squall's HA.

I basically get every ruby ability, even if I don't really need it. I have nearly 2500 rubies, even after buying the new ability.

Oh rubies isn't a concern, it's crystals I'm more conservative about. I don't wanna waste crystals on an ability I won't end up using.

Seems like Squall's HA has a higher multiplier even with more than 1 enemy, so I should just wait.

Yeah, no point in getting any of them until we have the 6* wind magicite to use it on. But my team will probably include both Squall and Celes, and I don't think I'll have enough EX lenses for both HAs right away.
