He's Mexican and we live in the southwest. We were trying to get water and I saw this lady giving us a dirty look. My boyfriend left to go to the bathroom and she turns to her husband and loudly stated "I was born and raised in the United States!"

Real talk, though... people are stupid. And Im not even talking about that lady. It goes beyond her. I talk a lot about politics but its all a ploy to keep us divided, and conquered. Shes aiding that same cause, and she doesnt have the slightest clue. Fuck. Even if you explained it to her she wouldnt get it.

I remember going to church in Colorado where they actively spoke crap about Mexicans while at a Mexican church members house! It was disgusting. No fucking class.

As Americans we really need to do something. We need to praise good people, regardless of color, and tell bad people fuck off, again regardless of color.

I didn't even say anything to her because I know my boyfriend wouldn't want me to.

One time he was driving me to work and accidentally cut some guy off when he was getting into the turn lane. The guy was hauling ass up the turn lane from way far down the line of traffic and we were closer to the light. He peeled into my work and swore at my boyfriend and called him a beaner. It was terrible.

It's really weird that people act that way towards a Hispanic man, but I never ran into that at all with my wife. She was Hispanic as well, but never had any incidents in the 20 years we were together. She did say when she was young she brought friends home and they thought her mom was her maid etc.

It also just might be that tensions are up due to our president etc, but I have seen it in the past before towards men, just not women.

Anywho, a lot of people are unhappy with their lives and rather than fixing or changing it, they blame their problems on external sources beyond their control (and in this case even confront the supposed "source" of their problem). It's easier on the conscious this way.

And its always about someone who was born and raised here, as well... They seem to think because of their race, they were born somewhere else, which is a really weird way to look at things...
