I don't order often but I got a new monitor for Xmas whilst one is on order so not sure if can cancel or if return present instead

It hasn't shipped yet.

From my experience,

Easy cancel if it hasn't shipped.

Once delivered: total refund if it's defective, refund minus shipping if you just don't like/want it.

If it hasn't shipped, it hasn't charged, and you can cancel it easily.

If it already shipped, you can generally do a return super easy.

since it has a variable refresh rate, it can be overclocked (set to a rate higher than normal). I'm not sure what they mean in the description text though. this was just the cheapest monitor that met your criteria on that site.

I've probably spend tens of thousands of dollars on Amazon over the last decade or so, both on new products directly from Amazon as well as used stuff from individual sellers, and I've never once had a problem with the service.

Any time someone has sent the wrong product, or not sent a product at all, or otherwise messed up an order, I file a complaint and it's almost immediately corrected or addressed in some way (either the right product gets shipped or I get a refund).

Amazon seems extremely good with customer service across the board.

I once bought a Blu-ray from the wrong region on Amazon from a third party that was fulfilled by Amazon because the picture was clearly the US region box and there was nothing in the information suggesting it was the wrong region except the word import buried in the expanded product description that you have to manually click into to see. In all fairness it would still be playable on a US player, just depending on the player it might not default to English if its not a smart system. I requested a return anyway so I could get the US version and they refunded my order and told me to just keep it.

I find their refund policy to be quite customer friendly.

Returns are great. Theres been some instances where the item was broke and they just had me keep it and they sent me another. Other times print the label and drop off at ups for stuff I didnt like.

I work in a shipping/printing store.

When you are returning NEVER choose a reason for returning option that puts you at fault. Options such as "I ordered the wrong item" will make it so you have to pay sometimes up to ten dollars to return your item.

If you choose an option like "Inaccurate website description" or "Item was damaged" then it will be free, given that it was not an item from a third party seller with a weird return policy.

Never feel bad about lying to a multi billion dollar corporation that doesn't pay taxes.

My roommate ordered a 30 pound bag of dog food from Amazon, but he accidentally ordered one of those "grain-free" types that the FDA has been warning about (dog foods that contain peas, potatoes or lentils as a primary ingredient may be linked to canine dilated cardiomyopathy), so he initiated a return. They told him to keep the old bag, refunded his money and he ordered a new bag of a different kind.

Don't know what to do with the first bag as I don't want to risk feeding it to our dog and I don't really want to give it to someone else and possibly end up making their dog sick.
