"okay"? Man, I always love the shit people don't seem to like. This show is glorious and I'm only on episode 2. Henry is an amazing Geralt and the fight scenes are amazing. I love dramas and I'm enjoying it all so far.

Then again, I loved Last Jedi so...

I just finished episode 1 and I thought it was pretty damn fantastic. I love the cast so far, combat was great, music...I need the damn soundtrack. Only thing I'm iffy on is Yennefer but we'll see once she shows up for me.

I think it's good. I am enjoying it so far. My problems are just how it's put together and the way they tell the story. It's a bit confusing and assumes the audience is familiar with the property, but even when you are, you can get lost at times.

Other than that, I really love the casting and the fight scenes are incredible.

I think that is my biggest problem with it. Like I'm getting it, but I feel if I hadn't already played the games and gotten to know all this stuff I'd be confused as fuck.

Like I got right away that there's a lot of flashbacks, but I feel like people who have no idea of what Witcher is would be confused.

On the other hand though, I feel if they had done it differently (like I expected) I'd be hating it so it's a weird feeling for me.

I've liked what I seen so far. Got up to episode 3 but I do feel like a lot goes unexplained as others have mentioned. As someone that hasn't played the games or read the book, it was a bit jarring but not really a deal breaker

Watched 3 episodes, it's really good.
I was kinda afraid it would suck at first because they went full GoT in the first episode, with unnecessary focus on flashy, senseless violence. I get the feeling they were trying to attract GoT fans.
Also in the first episode still, Cavill seemed to have trouble emulating Geralt having presence while still having dulled emotions, it looked like he was trying to make him more sassy or remarkable than necessary.

But then it started getting good

I've never played the games or read the books and I'm loving it.

However I'm also a huge fan of fantasy and anything with rich lore and worldbuilding.

Not true anymore, fyi.

That said, even if it was... witcher 3 was a pretty perfect capping-off point, as it is. Definitely wouldnt say no to more, mind. But if it had to end, it's a near perfect place to do so

I don't think the action is great in terms of looking real, still has the man kills mooks one by one thing, and it makes Geralt more powerhouse Batman over fast and graceful killer.

While I know stuff from reading the books the timeline jumps feel really bad, and I imagine people new to the franchise will be confused.

A number of cast members feel really miscast, I was expecting it with "Jaskier" (did they think Dandelion or Buttercup wouldn't be taken seriously?")

And I question how the Nilfgaardian armor got approved to actually be in the show with how awful it looks.

It's mediocre... Although it's better than the previous Witcher show.

They finalized the deal in 1997, what would you expect in then?

Seriously him not expecting much then isn't that surprising.

And he's not an asshole for wanting more money when they claimed they only wanted to make one game.

He's definitely kind of an ass when he talks but not for that reason.

Dont get me wrong. The video games have a clear influence on the show. Lots of little nods and slight alterations.

But yeah, the actual events are pulled from the written stories. The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny short story collections, mostly

season 1 world building and it brought the world of wherever theyre in to me. that alone was an experience. then season 1 brings it all together to conclude season 1... season2 im hyped for more story more characters and more character depth. i think the shirt story approach was done nicely. then when you figure out what the season was doing after processing what you saw... just nice.

i have no doubt season 2 is gonna make this a series expand and delve deeper into the story. i cant wait.

Granted, have you played the game? There's a bit of senseless violence when I fight...lol

Also, Geralt has been pretty sassy too...at least in the games.

Ok I am almost done. Just finished episode 7.

Despite its flaws, I am enjoying the show a lot and honestly want to see more.

I think the biggest problem with it in terms of story telling is the confusing timelines and I can see places where they could swap sections and it would make it easier for the audience to follow. However, I can also see why they did it that way because it allows the audience to get to follow certain characters more and see their development before they meet up as destiny wants.

I think the show can be tough early on but it gets a lot better once you get situated and comfortable with the show. I don't think any action in the show has topped the fight in Blaviken in episode 1 yet. Just the way Geralt handled those mens and the way he uses his sword there was incredibly cool.

Yeah I liked it overall but I feel the first half might be intense for those with no prior knowledge. I also started glazing over with all the sorceress stuff at the end.

Also wtf were they thinking with nilfgard armor?

Other than that I had no issues and enjoyed it.

The director said that since it's the early days of the nilfgaardian conquest, and most of their soldiers are very recently conscripted conquered people, their armor is basically shit to reflect that. The blitzkrieg-esque nature of their warfare hasn't yet allowed them to make the super ornate, or even good quality, armors that they'd be known for in the later parts of the war

Still looks like shit
