I do think it's a problem that we've been teaching kids it's wrong to defend themselves from bullies, even physically when necessary. But I'm not sure this one can be laid at the feet of the SJWs. That particular experiment in mad-sociology is much older than they are.

It sure wasn't people with conservative values who came up with suspending a kid for self-defense.

There's a trainee at my dialysis center that wants to get me kicked out for making jokes she doesn't like.

These aren't jokes I tell her, mind you. She just insists on evesdropping when I'm talking to other people.

Everyone else loves me there and she hates it.

No, but there's more to the political spectrum than those two groups.

A blanket rule punishing everyone who used violence is not the modern SJW style. They'd instead examine the wider identity groups involved, decide who belonged to whichever group held more privilege according to their current socological narrative, and retroactively declare it that person's responsibility to have de-escalated the conflict. Since they clearly failed to do this (as a fight broke out), they should be the only one punished; the other side was acting in justified rebellion against an oppressor.

Punishing everyone is a far, far more moderate approach. Probably the work of more standard liberals.

Offensive jokes overheard but not directed at someone can still be considered workplace harassment. This is common knowledge shit.

Punishing people for resisting bullies is the most conservative value I can imagine.

I never got in trouble, because I was the quiet kid who never bothered anyone.

When I finally lost my cool and started beating up my bully, the teacher just calmly walked out of the room for a few minutes.

When everything calmed down, he walked back in and continued teaching as if nothing happened.

I don't remember his name, or even the class, but they're my favorite teacher.

Anyway, I went to a private school and they barely punished anyone for anything. How Christian of them to ignore bullying and fights. Really tight military discipline.
