Even ignoring air dates, if I had to pick the Orange show I would more want to see continue getting adapted first, it would be Lustrous. Obviously Beastars looks fantastic, but what the did with HnK is just otherworldly in my book.

Plus I would actually be able to watch S2 of that while it was airing.

I'm honestly insanely curious as to what type of atmosphere the show would give so many of these scenes from the last dozen or so chapters.

It's truly otherworldly trying to pin down some of this tone, but in a good way.

Happened to notice all of RWBY was on Crunchy a couple hours ago because I was trying to see what the last season I watched was. Looks like they just sent an official email out that's its back with them and is gonna start simulcasting again! Time to catch up.

This show is solid so far, but I feel I would like it more if I didn't have to constantly contemplate the possibility that this peasant family might be forced to discover that their daughter's body has been taken over by a fully grown adult from another, much more technologically advanced world.

I SWEAR I only watch like 3 or 4 episodes of Chaos;Child, but I'm in chapter 6 of 7 now and scenes are happening that I definitely saw in the show. Does that track??

Well there are more than 7 chapters if I'm remembering right. (At least for the Over Sky end or whatever the first one was called)

Also it's possible that the anime adapted the side routes as well? (Or not, idk. I never watched it)

Finished Oresuki: Are you the only one who loves me? and I can say without reservation that this is the worst show I completed in 2019. The first arc was legit good - I enjoyed the dialogue, the comedy was good, and the character development was nice. 8/10 content that I liked a solid amount. But the signs were already there of the show turning to shit (notably Pansy turning out to be super hot, which while predictable, completely defeats the point). After that it basically turns into a garbage harem that completely forgets the original premise, AND it falls into the trashy LN trope of introducing new girls every single arc just to make the MC's harem bigger. Episodes 4 to 12 had maybe 15 minutes of enjoyable content between them and a whole lot I hated. To be fair, I'm a lot more antipathetic towards harem stuff than I used to be, but it's so much worse when a show insists it's not a harem and then turns into one anyway. If you're going to be trash, at least acknowledge it from the start...

Dr. Stone: This was mostly freaking great. Definitely my favorite non-sequel of the year at this point. The sheer joy of science it delivers is incredible. I found myself tearing up at several points, mostly just from Senku's amazing descriptions of great scientific accomplishments in the past. It's great when a show can focus on emotional content without being melodramatic or whatever. I feel like I heard some people complaining about the edutainment aspects of the show, but those were the parts I liked best. Honestly, the show would've been better with even MORE science! The rest of the cast wasn't quite as good as Senku, but there were a few standouts. Chrome was excellent, Kohaku was fun, and the brothers were cool. Taiju and Yuzuriha were much less interesting, but the show doesn't spend much time on them, thankfully.

The one flaw of the show that keeps it from being 10/10 (I'd give it a 9 at this point) is that the battle scenes are all boring. There aren't too many of them (maybe like 5 episodes of 24 have battles?) but none of them are interesting. The animation for the battles is generally garbage, and the motivations for the villains are all blah. I wish Senku would stop talking up how smart Tsukasa is when basically everything he says is stupid bullshit. Tsukasa's pretty much the weak link of the show overall, IMO. Get rid of him and it's a lot more fun. The battles are where the show feels most shounen-y too, what with the non-fatal nature of them. There's no way the villagers wouldn't have killed Hyoga, for example, considering how happy they are to kill outsiders in general.

Still a great show though! Would highly recommend it, even to people who aren't really into shounen fighting series. Check it out, pyre!

That show was legit fantastic for the first month, nothing is gonna change that.

Looks like Stars Align was supposed to get a second cour in Spring, but that is no longer gonna be the case. Please support this show in any way you can.

If Dr. STONE season 2 goes past the end of the stone wars arc there are some really great characters introduced

I finished a couple of shows

Kemono Michi: Rise Up
-I think the overall premise for this is pretty dumb but in a good way. I do think the whole thing where he like only loves animals is a bit overdone to the point where it gets tiresome and that hurts the show a lot. Like it's pretty hard to watch for a good portion in the middle until they finally get to all the wrestling stuff, which is pretty good. Some of the gags they do are funny, I like whenever the vampire lackey or whoever asks the loli "What is he doing" and the loli responds with a completely wrong answer. I also like the giant ant as the housekeeper. Also, how that one girl always "finds" a piece of equipment. I kind of wish Animal Mask showed signs of actually learning his lesson in that he actually has to do other things to open his pet shop (which never happens btw), but you know. I'd say this is watchable but the good and bad pretty much equalize each other.

Stars Align
-Let me tell you, after the first episode or so I was on board with this. It seemed like a show with a pretty good cast and some reasonable issues that had to be overcome. I think this might be the most disappointing show of the season based on how much I liked it early on compared to how much I like it (I don't) now that I finished it. I'll basically split this into two parts, the tennis and the drama stuff. (minor spoilers for ERASED as well as Stars Align obviously) The tennis is easy, the way they chose to animate it had to be the most boring way possible. Shows have made Ping Pong, Karuta, and Go exciting things to watch, but the tennis sections outside of a couple have absolutely no imagination or flare attached to them. Even with like perfect realism like they wanted to do they are not using the medium to their advantage with the way they are portraying the sport. Everything is done by one angle, shot in one way, etc.

As for the drama sections. This is more or less why I gave the tennis parts a pass because they clearly was only using it as like a vehicle to get the cast together. I think when they confronted the dad was when I was kind of iffy on its handling. While just based on who he is I know he's a bad guy, he doesn't have a lot of build up until the confrontation and even that is just resolved without really any build up either. Compare it to Erased where they confront Kayo's mom, that part feels powerful because of the build up it had. It doesn't have that feeling here. Then we get to the thing with the mom. I don't think it's a good look to go from like one family issue to another even if the way they are being abusive are different, it just feels very lazy. On top of that, there is like almost no real communication. It's hard to tell if characters (besides the club president who gets the most character growth imo) really learned anything beyond not wanting to lose at soft tennis so their club can stay around. Also, I know that this was originally a 24 cut down to a 12 but man, it might also have the worst ending of the entire year too. Even if this got the entire 24 episodes I can't see how they possibly could manage to tie enough together to make it feel worthwhile.

I was going to say that I thought that Chaos Child had 12 chapters, but I looked it up and it's 11 chapters (not counting the alternate route chapters and the true ending).

haven't watched the anime, but going off of the episode titles it sounds like it adapts roughly a chapter an episode (plus probably some Nono route related scenes for context) and the true ending.

also since I assume that ltm is playing the ps4 version due to an earlier remark about playing vns on console, I feel I need to point out that in the ps4/vita version the map trigger segment in Hana's route is a pain since pqube didn't bother to translate anything on the map or try to make it more accessible to a western audience who wouldn't be familiar with the area and can't tell you guessed wrong until after a fairly significant amount of text later you get a bad ending. So just use a guide for that part.

Huh, just assumed it was seven because the guide for the first run goes to chapter 7.

I'm using a guide for it already as I do with all VNs.

This one especially because the route triggers seem like ABSOLUTE bullshit.

I thought it was pretty straightforward, particularly considering that you are locked into the main route on the first playthrough and can't start any alternate routes or get the bad ending until after you get the first ending.

the map trigger sequences and questions are all pretty straightforward if you've been paying attention (except for the one on Hana's route) and can't get a bad ending for messing them up until you actually finish the game once (except for the one on Hana's route).

after that you just have to pick the positive delusions for the girl whose route you want to do and negative for all the other ones which is pretty logical. the exception being Uki's route, since I think she only appears in like 1 positive delusion and a couple negative ones for other characters so you might have to be a bit more careful with delusion triggers with other characters. and you access the true ending from the menu after getting all the other ones.

I didn't have any problem playing blind, other than Uki's route and finding some of the bad endings for CG gallery completion. And the map trigger on Hana's route.

(also the other routes branch off the main story after different chapters instead of at the end, so that's probably where your confusion comes from if you missed the part that you're locked into an ending on your first playthrough.)

I mean I didn't even know what the Positive and Negative delusions were or how to do them until half way into chapter 3 because there's no tutorial or controller map in settings. Thought it was some weird obscure things that would have an exposition character going "you ever notice those wierd things that pop up in your view sometimes?" 10 hours in.

I assume they just figured nobody would play this without playing Head first.

Also I thought there was some significance to some people's voices coming out of the controller speaker instead of the TV, but I'm starting to think it's just a glitch.

The first time it happened it was for the lines of that woman on the other end of the cop's phone, so I thought it was intentional!
