For me, it was when my brother died.

Growing up, I was heavily involved in the Neo-Nazi community. One day, a couple of African American guys attempted to steal my truck, and when I went out to confront them, I ended up killing two of them in a hateful, racially-motivated attack.

I was sentenced to three years in prison for voluntary manslaughter. In prison, I attempted to integrate with the Aryan Brotherhood, but they ultimately turned on me and assaulted me. My only solace was working my laundry job; it was there I started a friendship with an African American inmate after we bonded over a mutual love of basketball. It was this friendship that helped me see the error of my ways.

Upon my release from prison, I attempted to put my hateful past behind me, but I soon learned that my brother was going down the same path I had went down. I tried to save him, but unfortunately it was too late and he was a victim of violence related to his hateful, racist ways.

My introduction to racism was my first grade teacher talking about how black people used to be slaves. I decided that that was a bad thing.

Seasons 1-5 are really good

I guess it might feel a bit weird since its more hunting monsters in season 1.

I watched it sporadically, my brother is a huge fan and has watched since the beginning, but I was not that into it. He had me tape several episodes when he went to college after work and was missing episodes. I remember when Dean was on Smallville first.

I grew up in a diverse elementary school so I never gave a shit about race. The black kids would always do backflips off the jungle gym and I was kinda amazed by it. I was a bold kid but backflips have always made me nervous, cuz you could land on your damn head and be a vegetable. Some of the kids were making mixtapes in 3rd grade, I shit you not.

I remember one time we were playing kickball and me and this black kid both ran for the ball. We were looking up at it and just crashed right into each other, his teeth opened a cut above my right eye and gave me a scar I still have. Needed butterfly stitches. I can still remember his name, Montez. Luckily I didnt knock any of his teeth out but he was hurtin too, we slammed into each other full speed.

When I realized I didn't care about race, it's not an issue for me, and I only think about it when someone brings it up, such as ITT.
