By successful, i mean a topic that had a lot of posts and had people talking...for better or worse

I don't remember if the original topics themselves got big, but I did start the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl rumor that you could yell "Gotcha!" into the microphone to increase your chances of a successful catch, and the story about a drive-able UFO easter egg in GTA Vice City.

My most successful topic was back before gamefaqs even archived stuff.

Rallied a few people on the KOTOR XBOX board with the idea of making at least a proof of concept for KOTOR 3. Not too long before TOR got announced. We got no where beyond a bare bones website and some ideas getting tossed around.

Also on that same board I created the Anti-Selkath League which got 500 posts and its follow up got like 200 something. Not too bad for a game board for a game that was over 4 years old at that point
