No I stand pretty firm on the lore breaking issue, but I offered a situation in which I'm willing to accept it. The scene fails on multiple levels. I have flexibility for how I view lore in certain films.

And yes I'm going to point out that people insulting others for discussing this are lacking in awareness.

Hyperspace has never had rules

Actually it did. In the Star Wars universe, Hyperspace was thought of as a separate dimension to real space. Think Cowboy bebop. The argument behind this space was so ships wouldn't just accidentally ram into random debris and planets while traveling vast distances.

That is still how it works in TLJ. Weird how nobody thinks A New Hope breaks the lore when Han talks about how you can hit stuff if you aren't careful when you make the jump to lightspeed

Probably because that doesn't contradict anything. It was also a quick comment made in the first film compared to a major scene in the latest ST film.
