Someone did bring up the point that some of the problems listed could be from playing an emulated version of the game. Hell my (then) top of the line computer couldn't play Melee without stuttering at times in 2012

I'm just gonna judge the game myself on Friday and if its trash I'll resell it

I haven't played Pokemon since gen 3, and even I can see the baffling ideas and flaws with it. Dexit was one thing, but it's just been one thing after another.

Because Pokemon being braindead easy has been a thing since Gen VI, and it's actually a compliant, now that exp share is mandatory.

It wouldn't be as bad except that the "defenders" are just wholesale defending the game. Like I would take your big defenses more seriously if you weren't defending outright stupid decisions like mandatory experience share or calling the game one of the best looking you have ever seen.

At that point, I just throw all of their arguments in the trash, they clearly have stopped objectively viewing the game.

Emulation would explain literally zero of the game's problems, and I don't even think a Switch emulator exists.

Considering their excuse for cutting pokemon was to improve the animation quality and then game has piss poor quality for all it's visuals is just a slap in the face.

I certainly wouldn't care that much about pokemon being cut if the game actually looked amazing visually.

Hoth is known for having well over 10,000 banned alts on the Switch boards alone. I don't know if he's still there, but it's not like he's ever going to get a life so chances are high.

I imagine its in the middle and the game is fine but disappointing

I would say things like lack of music during the fight with the cover legendary, the draw distances being like 5 feet so everything is just constantly popping up in front of you as you move, and getting a cutscene animation where a character uses their walking animation as they rotate the model to simulate "turning around" as pretty bad.

Heh, I meant that more in the sense that Duncanwii, soulunison2, and that bobbyyyy guy have been shilling extra hard the past few days, to the point where you might believe more people were actually on GF's side in this. But it wouldn't surprise me if a couple altlords were muddying the waters over there as well.

the worst thing about it is that Nintendo basically forced them to go ahead with things since ORAS, probably to keep sales up for the 3DS and to tide people over the the Switch.

2016 comes around the corner, Gamefreak are told to make content faster. Hoopa gets its unbound form, as well as Diancie getting a Mega Stone in the game. when it becomes evident that generation 6 was waning, they did a stunt by pairing Volcanion with Magearna to tease generation 7. keeping in mind that Volcanion already had NPC lore text within XY which could have been something entirely different in lore.

Generation 7 starts to build up. Gamefreak are told to produce a new generation, possibly to cater to the 20th anniversery of the series. possibly due to interest in generation 6 waning in ratings (for the anime), sequestering Ash!Greninja, Meagearna and Zygarde 10%/Complete to SM.

NX starts to get to a near-finished state, now called the Switch. 2017 comes, USUM comes out, instead of stretching those games for at least 2~ years, they only code in 1 new legendary (Zeraora) and even then, it was just to keep up appearances/expected bonuses, it appeared in the 21st movie but it didn't get a Z-crystal whereas other Pokemon like the box legends, Necrozma, Mimikyu and Komm-o did.

Early 2018, they tease a new Pokemon generation....it was LGPE. they also released Pokemon Quest (where it quickly died off). E3 2018, they reveal Town but doesn't mention who's making the game. LGPE comes out to alright reception (?). 2019, Pokemon Sword/Shield comes out.

Think the major problem is that spinoffs probably became financially risky for them, since Nintendo expected main games to come out on the 3DS. which could be the reason why stuff like Picross, Rumble Blast and Battle Link was a thing. they probably unthawed Detective Pikachu because of the deal they scored with WB for the live-action adaptation. Niantic's success with GO might have been the thing that caused GF to branch into the mobile market, but not actually going forward with new age MyNintendo except from Rumble World onwards. Shuffle was probably a dual-system experiment w/mobile.

With that said about mobile. was Pokemon Duel even that popular? i don't see people bringing up the game itself nor its characters. was strategic games less of a draw in japan, compared to games that might have an infinite amount of cast members? Duel could have content as far as generation 7, but hundreds of pokemon wouldn't make much sense in a gacha-figure system, compared to stuff like FEH or FFBE which has hundreds of characters (and for the former, Variants) which you can level up, improve, equip (infuse abilities, for FEH). lootbox laws probably made it look financially unviable. the tencent deal must be strong if they jettisoned a PVP-enabled version of Quest for China.

If you think SWSH is bad just from the loss of gameplay features, and the lack of a graphical jump/polish, compared to other games (like BOTW and Odyssey), i'll fear how they'll take criticism/lack of sales for Detective Pikachu's switch sequel.

I just thought the problem is that as a product, i guess the Pokemon aspect was there, with the creatures, but the characters wasn't huge. guess i could see why they went with Masters since it takes the human characters throughout the game series and have them interact. even if the pokemon they use are limited to 1 (besides Brock in his alt suit)

Pokemon is in a bad place right now, and they can patch/update the game but that is only if fans put enough pressure on them, removing so many pokemon and moves is insane and no one can realistically claim "this is ok" unless you never played a game in this series before.

I can confirm there is a little bit of a stutter, but only certain scenes during the story and it's hardly noticeable or anything to cry home about. It plays like Pokmon and the dynamax battles are a blast. It also looks pretty in the open world.

I cannot imagine why Game Freak would actually remove a unique move like Pursuit. Like some moves I can see as redundant, but Pursuit was 100% unique.

btw because of this Aegislash is legit looking to be ridiculously OP even with the stat nerfs and one of if not the best Pokmon in the game. Its definitely going to be Ubers for sure. In fact, with pretty much all the previous Ubers and legends gone it doesnt look like itll be having any reliable counters at all. Even the cover legends of Galar are going to get bodied by it.

Too bad it's pretty impossible to get my Aegislash with perfect IVs from Y or Sun into Shield -_-

The Nascur fight was badass. Yeah it could of had cool music with it, but I appreciated the crowd and the sounds from pokeballs

Plus it's the penultimate fight anyway
