Much like the incredibly similar Star Trek: The Next Generation's upcoming "sequel," Star Trek: Picard, this Frasier continuation will see the titular character in the next phase of his life. (Everyone knows "The Next Generation" is just another name for Jean-Luc Picard.) While the team is presently shopping around between networks, Grammer -- whose surname is spelled somewhat unfortunately -- seems supremely confident that things will soon progress at "warp speed." I dunno. I love Frasier (we've been rewatching it actually), but the show really is an ensemble, not just Frasier. No Marty, and if it's not in Seattle probably no Niles or Daphne? Let alone Roz, and everyone at the station.

Yeah, Niles and Martin were honestly the heart of the original show. You could get David Hyde Pierce to make occasional cameos, of course, but I dunno if it would be as good. Obviously, if the writing is solid enough, you can make it work and I'll definitely watch just because I love the original so much, but it's a high bar to live up to.

Yeah, the original series ended with Frasier moving to Chicago, so it makes sense that they would pick it up from there.
