I'm think more along the lines of scripting if you want it bluntly. When the same people get in less than 10 seconds into the round no matter what the start time is, you really have to start questioning what's going on.

I know I have auto refresh going when I am home (which is always now) on one of my screens so that probably helps.

Maybe we have villains too though who can say.

I don't know if I count as someone consistently early but a lot of the recent rounds fell during my workday. Getting paid to refresh on my phone does wonders for my speed.

I know a lot of the older people, especially from raytan's era, can understand what I'm talking about. Rounds were vastly different depending on what time raytan started them, and granted his start times were probably the wildest of any of the hosts but for a while now it really doesn't matter when a round starts usually because there are people who simply never miss the round (even by a few minutes). And this isn't due to the Discord ping either because these people always beat that alert anyway.

I don't know. Like I said, I can't prove anything, but I've felt like this whole contest there's some sort of unseen advantage for some people that I can't quite put my finger on. It's uncanny to be early every single round; I refuse to believe anyone consistently has so little do to in their real lives for this.

In my case, I'm on a leave from work. Not medical or anything, it's a long story I'll probably post about some day, but it gave me the free time at home with an auto refresher like Chris, on a 2nd screen while I work on my first.

And usually I'd just try to get in early when H4 was a possibility, and then I made a game out of whether I could beat lefty to the punch or not. Then I realized he never saves until at least one other person has saved. Then I just kept saving as early as possible for the hell of it.

i was definitely able to pull off seeing any topic within moments of it going up for a large majority of the day back in early college

I know early saves have gone way up but I always just attributed it to the Discord ping

Lefty very rarely actually varies his start times.

There are really only 3 windows in which he throws up rounds. A little bit of f5ing during each window gets you in early.

It isn't really specific to Auron; this is just the final standard round and I figured I'd mention something I've had on my mind for the entire contest, and possibly even the last one I'm not sure. I'm not sure it's realistic to believe that anyone could respond within 10 or 15 seconds every day on a round time that's not announced and has a variance of roughly 6-7 hours. The level of dedication you'd need for that to happen is astounding and staggering to think of as plausible to me.

But I just wanted to comment on it, not like, try to call foul. There's no way to prove it, but if you really look at the data it speaks for itself honestly.

Yeah this is just factually wrong.

Vcharon isn't even on the discord server so he doesnt really know what hes talking about.

VI is typically the one who tosses it up and its usually within seconds.

My fiancee who lives with me insisted on Discord being reinstalled due to this contest however, so I have access to seeing it unfortunately. From a search, this is what I found. SMFFFC's start time on the left, ping on the right.

Today: 5:12 - 5:14
Yesterday: 4:46 - 4:47
Tuesday: 5:48 - 5:48
Monday: 6:41 - 6:42
Saturday: 3:03 - 3:04
Friday: 5:39 - 5:40

So yeah, I'm not incorrect according to the data. Discord doesn't provide seconds to my knowledge, but today's ping was even over a minute after the round began and yet the same people still appeared first even without that. My entire point was that the early voters are largely always the same regardless.

Im saying in the moment by the time I save the ping has been pinged. Its usually literally within seconds.

The only times I can think of where the ping was sorta late were rounds where there was basically no rush

I mean I didn't want to imply the ping was useless or so late not to be useful, to a normal person. I'm saying that it isn't applicable in the situation I was initially discussing, which is how a lot of people always reply within 15 seconds. The ping isn't within 15 seconds, based on the data collected, and even if it was you still need time to click the topic and post a reply in it.

I don't think I was factually incorrect about that. Even if it's somewhere usually between 30-90 seconds, those numbers are a lot bigger than 15 (and sometimes, usually, less).

Again, I can't speak for anyone else, but my routine for the better part of the past two months has been: wake up, gym, shower, computer. Not like I'm staring at Gamefaqs all the time, but it's off on the side while I've been reading, writing or watching something. New round easily catches my eye and I'm in.

You could say I've been obsessed.
