I wish DST was permanent, leaving work and it's already sunset or dark is just awful

There's been a ton of accidents the last few nights, causing huge amounts of traffic (nearly doubling my commute time). Everyone seems to have missed the memo that we're supposed to get into accidents in the spring!

Meh, I'll take my extra hour of sleep over it getting dark later.

You'll take the extra hour of sleep for one day vs. 5 months of the sun setting stupidly early?
Hope the 1 hour sleep loss when DST kicks back in is worth that 1 hour for you, too

DST blows.

Imagine how popular a politician would get if they ran against it.

And yet most political proposals to "end DST" are to stay in it.
Cause...we spend 7 months out of 12 in it. "standard time" is the anomoly.

Idk which one to get rid of but sticking to one would be preferable.

On the flip side, I do kind of like that the sun is up for my morning commute. Makes getting out of bed easier, at least for a couple more weeks. Of course, the other half of that in the spring is really painful because it means I have to go back to dark mornings just as they're starting to get light again.

I hate that, too.

I'm barely functional in the morning. The last thing I want is the glare of the rising sun blinding my drowsy eyes as I drive to work.

As others have said, I would like them to just pick a system and stick to it. I hate the transition.

There are days when I start off in the morning for work when it's still somewhat dark and then it's dark when I leave work, which is a little depressing. Especially since it gets so damn cold when it's dark.

What State are you in? California voted for permanent DST last year, but itll take a few more years to take effect because it has to be officially approved by Congress.
