Shit happens dude. Sounds like that job wasn't a good fit for you. Consider this an opportunity to find something that works better for you.

I've been there and it sucks but life is all about dealing with adversity and overcoming the challenges put in front of you. I'm here for support.

But all the people there seemed to love it so much. They'd come in, be happy, joke around, tell stories, and talk about how much fun they were having in their lives. Was it all a lie? Were they trying to fool me? If they were there, why would it be a bad thing to do? Why wouldn't they quit or get fired, too?

very competitive at times, and your income fluctuates wildly depending on who walks through the door. plus you can be the best salesman and still have a shit month and not hit your quota, which means that might dip into your supervisor's paycheck, and once you fuck with their income they're more likely to treat you with hostility or even just can you outright

About three weeks. It depended on the trainer. Some wanted to focus on phone specs, some wanted to focus on phone plans and promotions, some on the system we used to change plans and complete a sale, others on the workbook we were all given, and still others wanted to focus on just pitching phones. I'd walk in a learn the very bare bones basics of five different things on five different days. I wanted to try doing a whole sale myself, but they'd step in and talk over me and not let me actually try. Or they'd have me just watch someone all day. It felt really unstructured and kind of like each trainer had their own style of teaching and own priorities about what to teach. I learned a lot, but I guess I didn't learn enough.

It didn't seem that hard. Most of my coworkers just sat around waiting for a walk-in. If I had been certified, I would have networked out the ASS to get people in the door and crushed my quota. I would get bored just waiting for someone to walk by.

But they stressed that you shouldn't make someone buy something they didn't want because if they return it, they charge you for the return. They never stopped saying how important it was to only have someone buy what was right for them and not to push promotions if someone didn't want them.
