Best Freedom bonus offer: $200 cash back
after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.* Same page link to Offer Details Offer only available when applying directly with Chase.

Just as one example...167 dollars a month I have anyways in my bank account on purchases I need anyways to get $200 for free? That's extremely easy.

However I feel like opening and closing credit card accounts constantly would do a number on your credit score.

and I am sure there are more restrictions, such as you cant get this bonus if youve accepted an offer like this from chase in the past 24 months. Which, okay...chase is one company. I see these offers all over the place.

I am not likely to try this, though I have done two offers in the past for free stuff.

You absolutely could. There's an entire community based around taking advantage of credit card offers, etc. My brother used to go crazy with shit like that. Even now, he'll do things like buy a bunch of discounted gas cards at once with his credit card to take advantage of multiple offers at once.

And he was also doing some fucking shady shit where I *think* --- and I'm not 100% sure -- he was making purchases via store credit cards (like Kohl's) to qualify for offers, claiming the offers, and then returning the other stuff for a refund or something.

It definitely would, but iirc that would only really affect you if you were planning on financing a large purchase via credit or moving into a new apartment or something. The credit checks alone could lower your credit score.

You can do it and keep the cards open. It's better to have multiple credit cards for your credit score anyway. Part of your credit score is based on the percentage of how much you "borrow." If you have a $100 link of credit and utilize $100 of it, it will look bad (100% utilization). If you have a $10000 line of credit and utilize $100, it will look good.

Just don't open a whole bunch at once. It takes a few months for your credit score to recover. Also, the cards may be closed if you don't use them for a long time.
