I mean appropriating real world issues and adapting them into basically identical issues via proxy characters is TV 101. Even fake presidents are usually thinly veiled expies of real ones.

Though I think the woman from season one that wanted to build a dome was a much better execution of that concept.

I dont even know who the main villain is supposed to be. Cadmus I guess? Cyborg Superman showed up, but with so little fanfare hes basically the Goldar to Mommy Luthors Rita Repulsa

Either way I watch these shows because the characters are a bunch of lovable dorks and I want good things to happen to them.

This Guardian subplot is hilarious. You know Kara, out of all the people who might be Guardian, Im certainly not one of them. But, Guardian is awesome and Im gonna take your skepticism personally

And the lesbian subplot, are you telling me youre gay?

The shows in the CW DC universe have a terrible, TERRIBLE habit of trying to resist the status quo by force. Every time it seems like people might finally be happy, they get smacked over the face by some kind of ridiculous notion that should be resolved by a single conversation or maybe just a night to think about it.

But no, we get entire seasons of bullshit like "I can't trust you because you lied about some minor thing related to some nonessential plot line that doesn't matter, will never matter, and should never have even happened, but we're slaves of forced drama so every character involved is about to act like a first grader for eight episodes straight until a single hallway talk resolves the drama. But don't get comfortable, another contrived load of BS is right around the corner."

Everyone in this show is fucking adorable.

This show is also probably the only time in any DC anything i have cared about Green Superman. Jonz is usually such a freaking snoozer but the actor here makes him cool.
