Personally, I saw this coming. I watched a lot of the gameplay footage months ago and knew it was going to be a boring game. But, I always leave room for being wrong. I think what really pushed me over the edge was having played all the Metal Gear Solid games and seeing Kojima's eccentric and deviant off-topic additions, I knew the dude's mind was just begging to spill all it's sickness out for everyone to see like a 2-year old proud of taking a giant shit and flinging it everywhere.

But hey... MGS1 and 3 were really good games. So he cuts even with me. I think people will give him one more chance. I just hope he gets the same budget. There ain't no way he'll fuck up as bad as Yu Suzuki. Sammy and Sega are still feeling that shit. lolol

I think the best one sentence review of Death Stranding I've read is that it's boring like 2001: A Space Odyssey is boring.

And for some people, that's exactly the type of boring they were looking for from the game.

I hadn't paid attention to Death Stranding this whole time. Never was a Kojima fanboy, so I had no reason to spend years getting hyped up over it. But talk about it was omnipresent...Conan even did a segment visiting Kojima... so I knew vaguely of it.
Now that it has reviews coming out I decided to check it out, and....wow....

Likewise, the IGN reviewer who dared to "only" give it a 6.8 / 10 (ie, still an ok score!) has his video being downvoted to hell b/c he was honest about what a trash heap this game is. He provided concrete evidence of his claims in the video, and honestly given how horrible this game looks to actually play, I think his score was way too generous.

The amount of 9/10 and 10/10 reviews stating that it's dull, tedious, boring, and/or not fun deeply disturbs me, too. People are seriously asking if a game has to be enjoyable to play in order to be considered good, and that's seriously fucked up and a bad direction for gaming to head towards. I mean, mediocre game play being propped up by an amazing story is one thing. Quite another when the game play amounts to doing chores and frustrating minutiae.

Look, honestly I'm a very deep and introspective person who appreciates fine art and film. So I'm sure this game, if I suffer through it, will yield gold at the end.

Up to now, Death Stranding has shown nothing interesting in terms of gameplay to the point where I am AMAZED that some people are excited by what has been seen up to now. No thanks. I'll keep my reservations until the game actually proves something.

Never bought 5, got ps+ free download..
Downloaded it... deleted before starting
Im.. look... the story is just over ok?
I had my dinner and desert, I'm fucking done eating.

That's how I felt.

PS - I hated Old Snake. He didn't deserve that. I could have gone for a weathered and rugged rogue Snake Plissken type, but not old snake. Still, I played and shilled for it like a good boy.

Yeah, I mean, I still liked it. But it is the same reason I walked out of The Mule. I couldn't bare to see my hero get hurt and be old like that.

Snake is and always will be the hero to me. Not Big Boss, not Fake Big Boss, not Raiden. Just plain old- wait... not old snake. Just plain Solid Snake. And David Hayter will always be Snake. Because Guyver 2 was fucking badass and I knew him before MGS.

Eastwood has been a hero to me ever since I was a child watching his spaghetti westerns. When one of my girlfriends cheated on me and gutted my heart, I felt empty as hell. For some reason I decided to binge watch his movies. I don't know what it was about them, but they made me feel better. All the Dirty Harry films too.

Seeing him get old hurts me. When I was watching The Mule, I just got emotional and had to leave.
