I spent about ~160 orbs with the following haul:

+Def/-Hp Lif
+Res/-Atk Byleth
+Def/-Spd Ephraim
+Res/-Def Hilda

As if I needed even more of a reason to feed Byleth to Nino. Her attack animations suggest she should have built-in DC, and there's something about her eyes that bug me. I'm glad we don't have to rely on Greil for Fury 4 fodder anymore, and he shares his color with Mist on the revival banner, and while it would be cool to eliminate her -Atk bane, it's not worth the risk. I'm slowly fully kitting out my book I core team

Got Byleth, Ephraim, and Hilda in the last summoning circle, which turned out way better than I was hoping for. I'm loving all the infantry weed I'm getting as there's never enough of it. Ephraim will function just like L!Eirika, but she does have a better EP

CYL 4 winners announced. They're exactly as leaked.

3rd Anniversary Celebration

3rd Anniversary Hero Fest. Winners from the previous CYLs will be on a banner. There are three parts to this. Each banner gives 5 free tickets from logging in.

Daily BHB battles with their daily related banners as well. We'll also get daily quests for these.

3rd Anniversary reward maps. Your typical "2 orbs a day" maps. 26 orbs total.

3rd anniversary 5* special hero summon. It's the same as last year(Except the pool is better)

A Hero Rises 2020

Apparently there will be up to 8 finalists. Then the 8 heroes will... battle it out in the Voting Gauntlet. The winner will be given out to everyone. It also seems like you won't have to worry about a bonus hero for this VG.

Feh Pass

Oh boy, it's a subscription! For a monthly fee...

1. Resplendent Heroes.: Heroes who are dressed in an attire from FEH regions(Askr, Nifl, etc). Apparently if you have OG Lyn, she can wear this outfit as well. New visuals and voices, and apparently get get a +2 to their stats. The other hero is Cordellia. You'll receive two resplendent heroes per month. Heroes are distributed every 10th and 25th of the month(Starting in March).
2. Feh Pass Quests. You can get orbs, or heroic grails and other goodies. Available twice every month.
3. Expanded summoner support. You can summoner support with up to three heroes instead of just one.
4. Re-Act. You can return to the start of your previous turn if you haven't acted yet. IF a hero has acted, they return to the current turn. Unavailable in Arena or Aether Raids(Thank fuck).
5. Auto-Start. Automatically repeat a map until your stamina runs out. it's basically like auto battle, except you do it multiple times.

The price is $9.49 per month.

Yeah... I think that's going to be a... controversial feature.

Divine Codes

Complie Combat Manuals: We can basically turn them into various combat manuals. There's a certain "path" you have to complete it seems? Some of these are available for a limited time. They'll require special divine codes that you exchange for regular ones.

And.... that's all they're telling us. We'll get the full info next patch.

I've seen people ask for Voting Gauntlet winners to be given out for free. Now they get to find out why that was a bad idea. With any luck they remove the bonus system just this one time but they didn't say that.

Apparently if you haven't summoned the person you're supporting, you can use anyone you like without it affecting things. So that's nice.

Still.. realistically it's going to go like this.

1. You have one, maybe two heroes you actually want that get in the VG
2. The hero you wanted loses.
3. You now have to wait several more days while hoping the best fodder wins.

Not exactly fun. When it's just feathers on the line it's whatever. But now feather mercs can seriously fuck people over.

Just watched the video since it was being asked about in Discord. Holy shit, that subscription is deplorable. How is a basic Auto-Restart feature considered premium content? I can't believe the game didn't get that at some point after I quit already, and they have the gall to hide it behind paid content? That's absurd!

I feel like any paid content in a gacha game is fine, as long as F2P players can get the same things eventually, given enough patience and frugality. This is literally just pay-to-get-stats in a game with pertinent PvP modes that gates basic growth materials. This is horrible on so many different levels.

Alright. So let's look at the options(Used loosely) we have for this anniversary banner. Not going to focus on their combat ability because I'd be here forever.

Red

Hot Springs Elise: Well you know what I'm hoping for. Red-Hot Ducks is a pretty nice dagger. Rally Up Atk+ SS2, and Dagger Valor(Lol Atk Feint) Not bad fodder, though nothing busted.

Valentine Ike: DC + Special Fighter fodder. Wave skills is fine, weapon is alright?

Spring Palla: Interesting dagger. SS2, Disarm Trap(If anyone here cares about AR), and Hone Fliers.

Picnic Flora: The reason armor bosses don't get their B skill in TT+ anymore. Bold Fighter and Armor March. lmao AR-A skill.

Bridal Sigrun: The dud, for the most part. She has a SS sword and Air Orders. Nothing else is worth discussing.

Summer Helbindi: Red Duel Infantry opens up many options for arena. Rally Atk/Def+ and Panic Ploy.

Summer Lilian: Blizzard Dagger is OP. Rally Up +Res, Atk/Res solo, Sabotage Def and Atk Opening. Some nich but interesting skills.

Soiree Ishtar: Offensive Dancer. SS3 and Air Orders.

Halloween Hector: It's Hector.
(DC, Odd Follow Up, Hone Armor)

Winter Zephiel: Vengeful Fighter, Def/Res Opening, meme healing sword.

New Years Anna: Bow with situational passive debuffing. Rally Def/Res+, Sabotage Atk, Atk/Spd gap.

Hot Springs Ryoma: Fuck you. Yes he appeared when no reds were up. Atk/Def Solo, Chill Speed, Odd Def Wave. Lance gives -2 cooldown at the start of turn 1.

If you spent a small amount on the game each month i.e. you bought the monthly orb bundle for some additional cheap orbs, then you may as well replace that with the pass. You get less orbs overall but all the other benefits like grails and resplendent heroes more than compensate.

Otherwise, it's easy to view this as a cynical cash grab (for example, map reset macros are free on many other gachas) and a slap in the face for strictly f2p players.

Pretty much. Funny thing is that I was debating over whatever or not to buy the 200 grail package. It expired yesterday, and at the last moment I decided to not get it since I figured that even with the grails I'd probably wouldn't feel good about spending $75.

Wew, I didn't know how right my decision turned out to be because man...

Resplendent Lyn looks very nice, and here I thought it she was going to be a completely new unit and wish that were the case. Even with +2 to all stats, she's still underwhelming for today's standards. I would consider the pass if it were $5, but $9.49 is too steep. I do prefer old owl over Feh. Wish he were a mainstay because Feh's voice is atrocious

On another note, I actually got Pent!! Too bad he's relegated to fodder status with those stats. Didn't they give out orbs and feathers as part of the anniversary gift in previous years? It definitely feels like they're being stingy this year

Lyn looks nice, but the stat boost isn't going to make her very relevant. Cordelia really needed the better artwork though. I suppose that is how they'll fix older units like Eliwood who desperately need it.

I agree with the sentiment that a patient player should be able to obtain Resplendent Heroes somehow without dropping cash. That's my main issue with it.

Anyway, my free seasonal was Wolt, and I picked up my first Deirdre on a free pull. I think Wolt will turn into Brazen Atk/Spd 4 for Celica. I made an attempt for Legendary Eliwood, but got another Lif instead.

I was like "That sounds way too good to be true." The overall quality of refines this time is actually better than usual. Jakob's refine is not bad, but Laslow's seems like too much work to utilize. Think Jakob and Barst are potential builds for me right now

At first I was kind of put off by Laslow's refine and thinking that I would just stick with the mega defensive build that I already had for him, but then I saw some videos on the subreddit of an unmerged Laslow putting in some serious work with a DC / Vantage build. Having a brave effect on both phases is pretty great, even if it might take a lot of work to set up properly. Luckily, I just recently summoned a Nagi with my free pull on her recent banner, so I have a spare DC to give him.

I'll have to do some tinkering to find a good team that can help support him and get him set up. Right now I'm thinking Legendary Lucina or Odin would be good partners, but we'll see.

Sticking DC and Vantage on Laslow kind of makes him a budget Altina. Very good for the 3/4* pool, but if you were to expand it to all sword users I'd probably still take her and an enemy phase Laevatein over him.

Barst's refine is great, and probably the best of the bunch. If you happen to have a spare F!Byleth you could give him Fury 4 and Wrath to make a very scary player phase unit, even unmerged.

Morgan also came out of it very well. Her's is basically a better version of Camilla's prf, and suddenly gives her an offensive option, where previously she was either enemy phase or you slapped a Bladetome on her.

Jakob got a ton of raw stats with his refine, but still doesn't off him much a niche unfortunately. His statline is very mediocre, and now he's just a stronger kind of mediocre.

In spite of the non-anniversary, but summoning luck has been good. Got a decent Byleth(M) from TT+ banner and -Atk Camilla and +Atk Micaiah by only summoning on the first circle each time. Nothing today. Veronica makes better use of Atk/Spd 4 than Camilla does, and -Atk makes it an even easier decision. I now have Byleth, Barst, and Laslow that I want to get up and running, and undecided on Jakob

I just checked how much they're charging for the pass in the UK; you get used to being exchange rate screwed over here and having to pay more for the exact same product, but the fact it'll cost 9.99 (currently ~$12.74) honestly makes me more irate than anything on the pass itself.

finally got Kiria today at 4.75% after two other pity breakers, on my last possible summon (well, without catching up on multi-map battles or blitzing through February training tower quests, anyway). fell into the red-on-4-unit-banner trap, though i was also pulling every blue and oddly got no blue 5*.

Destiny Child had that exact same problem. they eventually got rid of it after people kept complaining about it. don't remember exactly how long that took, maybe 4-6 months? though that was just the global version that was changed that quickly.

Duo Alm, Faye, and Rudolf are all really good, it's not an easy decision picking between them, but Alm's Duo skill affects ALL allies, so that's significant and probably would be who I would go for. There are so many banners coming out that you have to balance what you spend on :/
