I mean you realize that up until a few years ago, there was no more dominant force in this contest than a villain (Kuja), right? I appreciate you trying to make sense of Seymour's struggles, but the real answer is that he simply isn't very popular and until a couple of years ago, he lacked a second dedicated saver to prop him up with me. Seymour isn't particularly "hated" on this board I think, he just is definitely not popular either. To do well he has to outlast people so he can gain votes from people who just like him in a general way, and thanks to guff that's now possible. But I also attribute all the stuff Edea does to Ultimecia, since, well, it is. So like Ultimecia gets all the points for icicle stabbing Squall and all that.
