Proctor & Gamble brand Always will remove the feminine Venus symbol from its menstruation products in an effort to be more "inclusive" to transgender customers, according to reports.

The move came after LGBTQ activists reminded the company on social media that not all of their customers are women, The Independent reported.

In response, the company said it would remove the symbol from its packaging by December.

"For over 35 years Always has championed girls and women, and we will continue to do so," the company said in a statement Tuesday, according to The Independent. "We're also committed to diversity & inclusion and are on a continual journey to understand the needs of all of our consumers."

Company officials added that they realize not everyone who needs feminine hygiene products "identif[ies] as female." Proctor & Gamble did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News.

The decision was lauded by trans activists but faced criticism online.

Women are quite literally being erased from sanitary products now. Is there anywhere we are allowed to be visible!? one woman wrote on Twitter, according to The Independent.

I'm very for trans rights and everything but this just seems silly. Are FTM transguys really that offended by the feminine products being labeled as for women?

Also, transsexual is no longer the politically correct term, just an fyi. They prefer to be referred to as transgender people.

I know plenty of liberal women including more than a few lesbians who absolutely detest MTF transsexuals and think of them as attention whores who trivialize the very legitimate issues women face.

This specifically is a TERF mindset so that's why someone brought it up.

I guess it should also be pointed out that TERF doesn't necessarily only apply to feminists even though it started out that way. This fits too.

I've read like 6 articles about it and they all aren't to specific on the details.

1 says she is a pediatrician and she has a referral a LGBT Council related physician that agrees with her. And that the father has experts who disagree with the assessment about the gender change.

So, I can't say too definitively what exactly is going on in that situation. All I know is that women on my Facebook are livid about it lol. I'd like to see some more specifics because the jury ruled against the father and my question is why? These kids are twins. And 1 is in question here.

I don't know the answers or specifics. The child is only like 8 I think. I don't even know if the child can understand the decision even. She said the child likes girls toys and to wear dresses. Father says the kid says his mother makes him and he hates it.

I literally have no idea what's going on in that case. The jury ruled she should have custody but the judge is supposed to litigate the rest of it.

You can't just take any word that the hyper-sensitive consider offensive and replace it with a word that has hundreds of years of heated history like the N word. There's a wide difference between offensive term and non-preferred term, and it's incredibly disrespectful to compare the two. You're actually the asshole in this situation, which is fine, you're young, but try to consider your own words before you vilify other peoples.

It's extreme but it is a case of slur vs. accepted term.

A more direct parallel would be something like homo vs. gay where obviously the former is offensive but like, not bad enough to need censoring on GameFAQs.

Yeah, the problem with all the hand-wringing is that the kid isn't being "chemically castrated." He would be put on hormone blockers to prevent puberty, which is completely reversible. All it does is give them more time for them to continue other psychological treatments without him going through the actual irreversible changes of puberty. If they find out he's not suffering from gender dysphoria or is not transgender, then he can go off the blockers and proceed through puberty as a male.

Same reason you don't carry bear mace at all times.

I mean, you could if you wanted to be prepared for a random bear attack. But for the vast majority of people, that's not gonna happen so I'd argue it's pretty impractical.
