I've seen The Thing and that is just classic creepy as horror. Prince of Darkness was also pretty chilling but... also kind of slow I felt like. It can be a bit slow in getting to the actual 'assault,' and the overall scope of the film is pretty small in comparison to something like Escape from New York - but Precinct 13 has my absolute favorite premise to a movie, ever, in that a gang attacks a police station in the middle of shutting its doors (for good) and the last remaining convicts and police officers inside have to fight them off long enough for help to arrive.
