Tried to get all of his biggest on there, but man, I forgot how many great films he directed, couldn't even get all of his most regularly discussed ones on there.

Really hard to pick between Halloween and Big Trouble, but I'm going to go with Halloween. It's just a perfect horror movie.
The Thing is right behind them

How do you choose??

I've never seen Assault on Precinct 13.

I have seen They Live and I love the premise and the cinematography but it drags on at parts.
I've seen The Thing and that is just classic creepy as horror.
Prince of Darkness was also pretty chilling but... also kind of slow I felt like.

I'm inclined to say "Mouth of Madness", but I was dozing off throughout (not a good movie to doze in and out of sleep to by the way) so I can't even give a full opinion on that.

An unorthodox choice but I respect it. If it was one of his later movies where he had more experience and budget it could easily be counted among his other classics.

I've never seen Assault on Precinct 13.

I really recommend it. It can be a bit slow in getting to the actual 'assault,' and the overall scope of the film is pretty small in comparison to something like Escape from New York - but Precinct 13 has my absolute favorite premise to a movie, ever, in that a gang attacks a police station in the middle of shutting its doors (for good) and the last remaining convicts and police officers inside have to fight them off long enough for help to arrive.

It's honestly the best noir zombie western I've ever seen. Probably the only noir zombie western I've ever seen.

He's the king of high-concept mid-budget thrills. Halloween, Escape from New York, The Thing, and They Live at least will endure. One of the best at widescreen composition. His scores are so good that he got literal Morricone and cut it all except the parts that sound like him

Angelika Film Center does this a lot (at least our local one does) where they do special marathons and stuff for the holidays.
