s0nicfan 10/21/19 11:24:04 AM #5:	No. In most cases, all you're doing is hurting yourself, and if you feel so strongly about something you'd quit over it, you are better off trying to change the organization from within. Kinda loses its meaning when I put it like that though. Virtue comes at a cost and it would seem dumb to act out of virtue when there is no cost to you and no chance it would mean anything. Also no one would give a shit if you're not a well-known executive and your issue doesn't directly affect your work. I wonder how people in government feel sometimes. This is what I did when I found out the company I worked for did unethical things I didn't want to be a part of. I always refused to be directly responsible or taken part of any product that I knew wasn't made to API safety standards. But I knew eventually it would get me fired so I earnestly looked for a new job and eventually quit. --- I think I need a drink.
