The strategy is generally not to do dumb things and use OP moves. Going slow and figuring out the dumb thing you want to do but shouldn't do.

OP moves are the triple batarang, the glue grenade, the deadshot item, and most of all the A+B KO all knocked down enemies combo move. That last one is broken.

There were also a couple quick time events that were just stupid, and one spot in just platforming where you have to not get crushed in by turbines on that dumb glue raft. Those could have easily ended the run.

As for the game, I definitely finally see why people liked this game the least. The writing is noticeably worse, Gordan is an idiot. Really Gordan, you're mad at me after I killed Bane in self-defense to save your ass? What kind of cop are you? And then you shoot the bad guys in the legs? That's not a thing.

Then the part with the defibrillator was dumb. Irl you can't just shock someone with enough current to jump their heart, it uses specific frequencies to get the heart going, but batman likes to use his shock gloves and pound away at people's chests before even bothering trying legitimate CPR. He just beat the shit out of Alfred with his dumb gloves.

Aside from the story, the gameplay gets better as the Arkham games get newer imo, so I thought the gameplay itself was better than the two older games.

I almost did Arkham Knight deathless, but that last boss fight with the Batmobile and the drill gimped me when I clipped a wall.

Having only watched the boss fights and some cutscenes, Origins looked more interesting than either City or Knight.

I've had the GOTY version of City still shrinkwrapped on my shelf for years now and I accidentally picked up (then returned) a second copy of Origins at one point. Really need to get around to playing both but... I just haven't been feeling as motivated to console game.

Wait is that the DLC? I remember playing this game many years ago but don't remember much.

I Also think the hate for it is way overblown. I enjoyed the game and thought it was another fun arkham game, a series I've loved immensely. If anything arkham knight is the one I think is worse, if nothing else then for how utterly disappointing it was, and the fact that the car sections really ARE as awful as everyone says, it wasn't an exaggeration like I previously thought.

Arkham Origins was just a fun romp through Gotham in winter time, which is the best season for Gotham, if not the most iconic season for the city. The boss fights weren't half bad either.

City is amazing, unless you really hate open world games it's typically viewed as the best one.

From what I remember most of the hate for origins was due to bugs and performance issues. It had a lot of problems at launch and some game-breaking issues were never fixed, which won't negatively affect you unless you're unlucky enough to trigger them but still warrant plenty of ire.

Not enough people talk about Origins nowadays and that's a shame because it's as worthy of a game of the Arkham series as City and Asylum.

Knight is a pretty decent closure for the series IMO.

I started playing the Xbox One version of Arkham Asylum recently.

The game looks great, I mean didn't people say the graphics sucked in the remastered versions?

Origins gets shit for not really doing anything better than City, compared to the leap from Asylum to City. Still really fun.

It isn't. Still a great game.

I don't hate open worlds games but enjoyed Asylum the most.
