I just died of a cold. A fucking cold. I've never been able to beat this game. I've gotten close a few times but I just can't seem to avoid the gazillion pitfalls and terrible chance cards. Even playing easy mode doesn't guarantee victory. At best, I've settled in Utah.

I have good memories of playing that game at the library. Recently Ive been playing Organ Trail on my PS4 which is basically a zombie-themed Oregon Trail (albeit with less depth from what I can tell).

in elementary school, when everyone would play this during computer lab, they'd print out the completion certificate of whoever managed to beat it. I was one of the lucky few.

I liked the second game a bit more, although i think it was easier than the original. Well, depending on what options you went with for your family.

Back in the day I used to be able to beat the game a little over 50% of the time when we played in the computer lab in school. I'd be the only person in the lab that beat the game most days, and sometimes I'd win twice in the same class period. Even my teacher couldn't figure out how I did it so consistently.

I remember literally nothing about it now, though, so I'd probably suck if I tried playing again.

Once I realized I could never win, I settled with just goofing off on the Bison Hunting minigame.

Amazon Trail!

The Inca King is pleased with your success. He would also like you to bring...some Chinchona

That panther lol

Also I could be wrong, but I think your guide character would react to your illnesses. Oh no, youve come down with Yellow Fever!

Truth be told gaming needs a genuine modern take to this. Closest thing to something like that of the past 30 years was RDR2.

Wait, what ...? There's a new version of Oregon Trail, not from the 1980's?
