I was trying to survive the horrors of freshman year of HS so I was only sleepily acknowledging the pre primary race.

Most assumed he was too young and that he was running too soon at that point in time.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Nah

He was seen as pretty unlikely at first and most assumed Clinton or Edwards would get it.

Folks didn't take him seriously until he started polling really well in Iowa and New Hampshire

I remember that was the same year House MD had an episode where House was berating the patient of the week (a black politician running for President) for being naive enough to think Americans would vote for him (because hes black).

Not in the primary. I didn't follow politics that closely at the time but I don't think it was really that much of a surprise when he won despite the obvious historical nature of the win. He was ahead in polling for the entire general election portion of the race.

Hell no, it was basically Hillary is more experienced and going to win or Obama is black so he cant win or he will get shot.

The issue with Obama's chances of winning had more to do with Clinton being the de facto DNC candidate than anything related to the general election.

yeah as the economic meltdown progressed it looked like a matter of how much Obama was going to win by not if, I was starting to tune in more as the general election approached, primary season just seems like a blur now (that I wish I had payed more attention to)

Oh, I remember at the time I was really into talk radio. Rush, Beck, and Hannity didnt give Obama two blinks until he won the primary. Hannity even gave his radio show the tag line the stop Hillary express for that whole primary season lmao. And I think that was the same election where Rush did project Chaos, or maybe that was Romney idk

Then Hillary and her supporters tried to get Trump nominated in 2016

Maybe the parties should stop interfering with each other lol

I knew he would win the primaries after seeing him and Hillary debate. She coyldbt out talk him and he had way more charisma. Same thing that happened to her with Trump, actually.
