Yes. And most of the people I see using Android here are using Chinese companies. Huawei being quite popular.

I am not sure what to switch to for my next phone. Sony is actually an option here, but Google and Samsung seem better.

On the flipside, there will be more jobs available, more money flowing into the local economy, which means more people having the capital to take risks and create new businesses which installs new jobs.

An increase in price tag is a small price to pay for a collectively stronger society.

In what world do people think the corporations who control the politicians would stand for losing a shit load of money just to appease virtue signaling americans? Yeah, if you have an issue with how China does things go ahead and voice it unless you're apart of a business that has chinese ties because they own us, all of our lifestyles involve China in some way so to cut yourself off from China is pretty much cutting yourself off from most if not all of American society, you'd have to go live in the woods somewhere or become a hobo and it's not just china either, there are several countries out there who use various forms of human right abuses to meet western civilization's demands.

Wages won't increase at the same rate as the price tag. All that will happen is that the cost of manufacturing will increase from $3 a unit to $30 a unit and the selling price will increase from $50 to $500.

Manufacturing should never be carried out in developed countries. You take away manufacturing from developing countries and bring it back to a developed country, 1) you're hurting your own economy because sure while you may create more jobs, wages won't increase enough to pay for it and 2) you're crippling the developing country (although most people probably wouldn't care because hey fuck that country that's not mine, right)?

America HYPOCRITE

Well yeah, that's the point, our country is built on double speak, we preach freedom and individuality while our government routinely restricts it and everybody fucking despises those different than them and wishes they'd all die and we have our own human rights abusive as well but there's always a long argument defending it.

If the product won't sell for the price it's on, then that's on the manufacturer to figure out how make a profitable product. It won't be the end of the world if Apple isn't worth damn near a trillion dollars.

And developing countries are not our friends. Allies for mutually beneficial collaborations, sure. But your first allegiance should be towards your country and supporting your people first. It makes no sense to me that the US is busy subsidizing imports from China where their exporting costs are mere cents while the US exporting to them costs $40 or so. China is taking advantage of us and they know it.

You know the first thing manufacturers look at to lower cost? Cheaper materials or cheaper production.

The US has spent years as the global hegemon and doing what they like. China is now in that position of power. If China/US trade ended today, the US would be hurt far, far more than China. China is taking advantage because they can, like the US has for years.

Indeed. But if a company has a production plant in the US and are selling to the US, they're going price it so that they can make sales. This is in response to you saying that wages won't go up high enough to meet the prices.

So we should let China have their turn being on top? Nonsense. Their banks are literally running out of money so I'm not too worried about them anyways.

No

Most of the tech and some appliances I have, sure I guess. Some of the clothing probably. Almost none of the furniture.

None of the building materials were made in PRC.
