A Georgia Teacher is in paid admin leave after she posted a controversial assignment involving the Confederate Flag that compares it WHITE TRASH and INCEST!!

Crybaby Melissa Fuller shared the Hephzibah High School assignment after her daughter,a confederate supporter was offended by the offensive message!!

Melissa said "A lot of is that it's not morally correct. It's unethical. It's just something you don't want to discuss today in today's world and especially inside of a classroom"

She said her daughter received an in school suspension after wearing a belt buckle with the flag on it and was told to remove it.

She said "If she can't wear that belt buckle, then why is it appropriate tomake an assignment out of it?"

The confederate flag has a longstanding racist history tied to southern succession from the Union over state right's involving enslaving african people but some historical revisionist have since claimed it's to honour southern pride.

Fuller agrees with that stating it's not racist it's about pride and her family are proud confederate supporters as they have numerous flags and clothing engraved with the symbol and is outraged that teachers are turning the meaning into something "ugly".

The school condemned the language and said it has no place in the classroom and the teacher will be reprimanded

Considering a teacher shouldn't be saying shit like that in school let alone working it into an assignment, this seems like a pretty obvious, "Fair, next." Of course, putting her on paid leave isn't much of a punishment.

I mean, there are also people that have bought into the "southern pride" thing that racists have peddled to make their kind seem more numerous. Much like the straight pride thing, it's not necessarily that they're racist themselves. Just historically ignorant.

I'm bothered by how ignorant this teacher is since incestuous relationships aren't restricted to one area of the country (the south) or one group (supposed 'white trash', which is a way of saying someone white who doesn't act the way 'the establishment thinks white people should act' according to NPR). This teacher needs to take some refresher classes in American history and the history of the world, among other things.

Maybe they had a relative in the Confederate army in the past? That flag does not stand for racism.

There's more to the civil war than just slavery. The North and South had different ways of living, nearly a different culture. The southerners were being forced to give up their way of living and fought to defend it. Remember that there were plenty of racist northerners, they just didn't believe that they NEEDED slavery anymore to sustain them. Please don't think it's about racisim every single time. Slavery existed in just about every civilization, yet so many people only seem to remember America's slavery period which only lasted for about a century.

America's slavery period is notable because it's one of the most recent in a developed country, as well as the fact that the American slave code was particularly brutal. It's also notable for the systemic racism that persisted even after abolition, which is still an issue today.

There's more to the civil war than just slavery.

Nope. It was the issue that all the states cite as their reasons for seceding. In the cornerstone speech the vice president of the confederacy gave to state what the differences between the confederacy and America were it is clearly stated that the cornerstone of their nation is the idea that blacks were not equal to whites and slavery was their natural condition and their nation was the first in the history of the world based on that great moral truth.

There was not more to the civil war than slavery. Anyone who tries to state other wise is doing so exclusively to diminish the ideas of slavery.

That flag doesn't even represent the confederacy though. The modern display of flags used by and associated with the Confederate States of America started in response to the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s and continues into the present day. Their revival began with Senator Strom Thurmond's Dixiecrats in reaction to growing public support for racial equality, alongside opposition to civil rights in 1948.
