Then on my previous playthrough I'm borderline addicted to it

Once the Chocobo gains some levels shit gets intense

It's easily more enjoyable than the frog nonsense

also, either Quale is stronger than Silver Dragon, Garland and Terra Kuja, or the leveling that I did on Terra made an enormous difference

i believe the final boss had been intended to be Garland as Chaos but they changed the story halfway through but after the encounter was already designed so they changed the name to Necron and made up some ridiculous bullshit to justify him showing up.

i can def see that given the game was originally supposed to be an 'anniversary edition' to celebrate series history, and then it ended up being FF9

also the map of Gaia holding a strong similarity to FF1's is p fun

then again FF8's was inspired by FF3's
