Do you have anybody you know in the family including cousins, aunts, uncles or in your social hemisphere that are flushed with cash? If you do, do you ever keel over with an over the top kindness expecting to get any of their cash in return? let's see if people do.

None of my family that I know of are rich. Even if I found it they had money it wouldn't bother me. I'm certainly not one of those people who suddenly become your best friend when they find out you have money and don't want to know you otherwise.

I have an uncle who is a millionaire, but I don't treat him any differently just because of it. In fact last time he came out I let him stay in my guest room so he didn't need to get a hotel room and buy take-out.

My second cousin co-owns Stonewall Kitchen, a Maine-based chain kitchen supplies and jams and stuff. A few years back, he and his partner bought a $1.5 million beach house in cash (in addition to their existing home), which tells you roughly how well that's going for them.

One of my great aunts on my dad's side is allegedly a multi millionaire. I remember being told before what she did but I forget now. I know i have some cousins on my mom's side that are pretty well off but I only see them at big family functions and dont really talk much with any of them

Yes. He's a well-off Microsoft guy in Seattle, but people are always sucking up to him just for his money so we never talk to him about money even though we're basically on the cusp of financial ruin. Seems tacky.

I have family members who are millionaires, but I wouldnt really say thats rich these days (simply having over $1,000,000 after liabilities are factored in). Its absolutely well off, but thats upper middle class these days. Id say rich is probably at least 8 figures. Maaaaybe as low as $5,000,000 would count.

I have several cousins whose family are well off because both husband and wife are medical doctors but beyond that I do not have any family members or friends who are upper echelon rich. If I did, I would not suck up to them for money unless in a really dire situation. My life as it is now is going well enough for me.

My family's generally upper middle class, so it wouldn't surprise me if some of their net worths were around the $1-3 million range.

Oh yeah, just remembered, one of my cousins literally sells yachts for a living, so I imagine he's quite well off by this point.

I've helped some family members with their investments and whilst I never took a cut, being the mandate on their accounts opened some doors for my own personal relationships with various institutions.

I don't know any rich people in my family, but I think 1 or 2 of my friends may be rich.
