It's a 16 episode season, that's more than enough for me, and this season is likely to be heavy enough to want to break it up

Eh, given that I binged everything at once, I guess things kinda blur together. S5 was apparently the Philbert stuff, which I liked although "Free Churro" could be my favorite episode from the series. The network stuff was hilarious in s5, though.

Rewatching season 5 (and already some stuff I had forgotten from the season before, I guess?) and, damn, so many of these episodes are downers only brightened up by Bojack's shenanigans (or background shenanigans in general, such as the chain of events that lead to the stunt that gets Bojack addicted to pain pills). I deliberately skipped the episode where Diane leaves the country, mostly because suffering through it once was bad enough. I'll make up for it by watching "Free Churro" an extra time.

Finished the first episode of the new season. That conference call was hilarious, particularly the Todd story. The rest of the episode was pretty good as well, but kinda not sure that I want to get too much into it before the second half releases.

...I succumbed to addiction and finished watching the rest of the season. Each episode I was like, "No, I'm going to stop here, I don't want to get hit by a cliffhanger," but I couldn't stop.... well, except when I went to sleep last night, although I barely slept.

This has probably been my favorite Todd season. The fact that he's just in the background has made his zany hi-jinks, etc, even more entertaining. His "Assistants are like Deadpool movies" quip was probably my favorite joke of the season.

And goddamn that mid-season ending, *especially* given that it ties into his whole earlier remarks of never actually suffering consequences for his actions and secretly wanting to punish himself.

The parenting stuff on episode 2 hits right on the money and I hated that it did. My gf and I had a really rough time with our 2nd child.

We thought he hated us because he would never stop crying when we held him. We would be up until 3 or 4 am, get 2 hours of sleep and go to work. It was the worst.

Parenting is the worst and best job I've ever had.

I'm upset because we got left on such a big cliffhanger.

A lot of the episodes were intense, I had to take breaks and a lot of jokes were good. I laughed a bunch at the episode when everyone is trying to sneak out of Mr.PBs house.

Really only implied because the story follows BoJack as a narrator and not PB. Honestly I never got the impression Horsing Around was more popular. PB clearly had the more successful career and was in the public eye

I'm sure the impression of the shows would be very different if this was the Mr. PeanutButter show

idk, I recall several scenes where people recognized Bojack but not PB and PB made a big deal about it. That's not counting Mr. PB's House started off as "Untitled Horsing Around Knockoff." Plus throughout the show, Bojack had been getting more notable acting roles.

Plus whenever Bojack mocked Mr. PB's House, PB didn't say much to defend it (instead saying stuff like it had its fans and that some people liked it better)

His reaction and then the reaction to his reaction was great. The season trailer played that part more straight, though. Actually, the season trailer in general kinda spoiled things too much for me, either giving things way or creating expectations of things that'd happen.

I kinda figured that wasn't going be a thing back around season 3 and by then I was fine with it. Honestly, they're too platonic. That said, Diane's last-second love interest is still a somewhat contrived move.
