I'm not sure if I would put 4-1 on a tier of "legitimately great" but it's quite easily the best case on AJ. It does have Phoenix falsifying evidence though so... take the good with the bad I guess?

It's the mishandling of 4-0 I object to more than anything else with AJ. I could even live with 4-2 and 4-3 being low tier cases if they actually made the payoff of 4-0 worth it, and they completely blew it.

4-3 was fine. I got real sick of having to see the unskippable video a hundred times (thanks for the lampshade Daryan) and Trial Day 2 Part 1 was annoying and obvious, but the rest wasn't bad at all. Less stupid aimless investigation than 4-2, equally unhelpful but eminently more likeable witnesses than 4-2, felt coherent and not a waste of time.

yeah fair enough i was mostly looking for an adjective to contrast it with 4-2 further. as stated, the first half of the second day of trials was stupid, though i'll give the game respect for at least acknowledging in narrative that you can find a defendant innocent without needing somebody else to take the fall and having apollo explicitly gunning to convict the criminal rather than purely looking out for machi's innocence

i'll also add the caveat that this case would probably be awful to play through again

I actually liked the Apollo vs. Daryan showdown despite the nonsense. It felt like the rivalry Apollo/Klavier should have been but never was.

I also like Lamiroir less and less every time I replay 4-3.

Case 4 was cool for the first half but the last trial was kind of lame and it didn't pack much of an emotional punch. It felt more like a normal case albeit with some gimmicks

I mentioned earlier to a friend that they if the devs were thinking of applying the "Peculiar" theme to a character it's a sign that they should scrap him, but Brushel grew on me and even Meekins seemed tolerable. Am I sick??

I only played up through like halfway through 5-4. I barely remember 5-1 and 5-2 but 5-3 was pretty awesome. Easily the best 3rd case in the series (of what I've played).

Yeah, 5-3 is pretty good, despite the fact that the majority of what gets proved in court is ultimately useless. Good character development and I LOVE how Means transforms.

I just beat the original AAI for my second time! It was worse than i remembered. I would say only DGS is worse. On the bright side, there was less Wendy and Larry in the final case than I remembered, and a couple of
the twists were great. The 4th case in particular was weaker than I realized the first time around.

Yeah, AAI1 is decent, but nothing special. E1-2 might be the most uninteresting case in the series (not the worst, just the least interesting). E1-4 is one of the more overrated cases in the series, too.

I really like E1-3 though. It's got a quirky charm that I enjoy quite a bit.

I made some progress in 4-2 today but somehow I turned off my DSLite while it was in sleep mode and I'm back at the start of the second investigation day which means I have to see Stickler's ugly mug again.

This case isn't as painful as 3-3 but it is bad.
