I've maybe gotten a good one once or twice when they were way off base about my background and I'd have had no shot. But most of the time it's some total dogshit that's in a different state or for some local branch of a megacorp doing contract work that I know is widely hated by everyone who has been it before.
I don't really care cause I know where to look for something better, but it would be nice to just have a good one come to me and not have to think about it --- YOU GOT THE DUD ... Copied to Clipboard!

My current job I got when a recruiter contacted me and said he thought I would be a good fit for, and he was right. Granted I had dozens of others before him contact me with crap I knew I wouldn't even get past the tech screening for, it is just a matter of waiting for the right opportunity and crafting your profile so it best describes your skills and abilities.
I actually had a discussion with one of my co-workers about it yesterday, and we both said that we ignored the "buzz words" and other fluff people put on LinkedIn because all someone is going to do is ctrl-f and look for certain keywords for the job they are trying to fill. Putting all that extra stuff in doesn't help for the most part because a recruiter isn't reading it. --- I am a senior software engineer. I'm in tech and I get a lot of recruitment offers through LinkedIn. I ignore them for the most part, but there are one or two that tempt me every once in a while.

I don't get them as much now that I have a job but I was surprised to still see 1-2 per month. Sadly my job now doesn't seem to yield me any more attractive opportunities than I had before
