Stars from the hit NBC series Will and Grace are upset about an Emmy week fundraiser in Beverly Hills for President Trump next month and vow to name and shame anyone who dares to show up, hoping to blacklist participants from working in Hollywood. Please print a list of all attendees please. The public has a right to know, Debra Messing tweeted Friday night in response to a Hollywood Reporter story on the upcoming event. She and co-star Eric McCormack called for the outing of all Trump supporters who attend. Hey, @THR, McCormack posted on Twitter. Kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we dont wanna work with. Thx. But the two faced a storm of backlash from critics who accused them of modern-day McCarthyism.

Whats the difference between Joe McCarthy and Debra Messing? asked Fox News host Greg Gutfeld. One organized a witch hunt against law-abiding people with dissenting opinions. The other was a senator from Wisconsin. Labeling half of America as deplorable isnt a winning strategy, Trump communications director Tim Murtaugh told The Post. Just ask Hillary.

Eh as much as I hate Trump and his supporters I don't really like this. People should try to spit less venom in general. Just cause Trump and his supporters are trash doesn't mean liberals should aim to just be better than that. Everyone just ends up stooping lower and lower.

I wish liberals would admit to playing a role in the current divisiveness of America. They certainly are far from contributing the majority, but they aren't squeaky clean either. Just aim to do your best instead of being better than the "deplorables."

Eh unions are a bit different. You pay them to represent you. Unions are known for being corrupt. Though a corrupt union is still way better than a corrupt company.

Seems very odd to not make the votes union representatives cast available for union members to see. Not sure what you mean by bullying, but I see no problem with union members openly questioning the decision making of representatives and holding them accountable. These decisions very much affect peoples lives. I'd only call it bullying if they wanted to scream and yell insults as that stuff just makes things ugly instead of productive.

Then again, I've known union representatives who are very corrupt and slimy people who deserve to have insults screamed at them although that isn't likely to be productive.

Doxxing is finding information that isn't meant to be public. All donors should be kept on record.

I won't deny this is an offensive move, of course it is.

Nothing wrong with putting public info out there

If people are ashamed at being outed as Trump/GOP supporters then maybe they should take a moment and try to puzzle together why they feel ashamed of who they support.

Isn't the whole reason some want it public like people in OP is so they can get blacklisted. If there was no harm in it id imagine people wouldn't have issues.

I wish you'd just state exactly what it is. No need to imply.

I assume you mean some sort of intimidation. If it is literally (I assume it isn't literal) a big intimidating person having a talk to convince someone of a different point of view as it pertains to their vote then I don't see such a huge problem. I'm not one to generally see union representatives as altruistic people who seek to represent their members.

I mean, it sounds like you're saying they do something that the mafia in movies and TV shows would do to the effect of "nice house and family you have, it'd be a shame if something happened to it." Which is beyond bullying. That would be threats and intimidation.

Ugh what?

I'm just trying to get you to elaborate on what you meant. Seemed like you wanted to make implications as opposed to outright stating anything.

I'm sure some gangster type stuff does go on with unions. In fact, I'd be surprised if it didn't. Like I said earlier, unions tend to be pretty corrupt. They just also tend to be much better than letting corporations dictate workers rights and compensations.

I just tend to see the word "bullying" get tossed around so readily as an attempt to claim victim status and escape accountability for your own actions. Like "how dare my constituency point out to me how I'm screwing them. I Won't be bullied."

No it isn't why Trump won, but it clearly doesn't help anything. It just makes you personally feel better. It also tends to escalate thibgs further.

Instead of screaming at someone that you think they're a racist and awful and all that you should just quietly think that to yourself and walk away. Meanwhile, be politically active and reach out to those in the middle in hopes of swaying their votes.

Like it or not, idiot Trump supporters are a big part of this country. You need to make some sort of attempt to work with them or work around them. You can't shame them into not existing.

Trump supporters tend to be pretty awful, but a lot of leftists take that to mean they can be slightly less awful and immune to criticism. As embarrassed as I am of Trump supporters I am similarly embarassed of all the "progressives" who fail to look at themselves in the mirror.
