You're right in that she doesn't have to have sympathy, but what a lot of people are just going to see is that a woman's brother committed suicide and she's devastated. One of the responses to the tweet in the OP was "good riddance lmao" and obviously, people didn't like that. Defending yourself against people harassing you and maintaining your stance is fair game but outside of that it wouldn't make sense to really make any public comment on the actual suicide itself as it would just be a bad look

That being said, it seems like nobody was actually able to find this tweet in particular besides Coffeebeanz for whatever reason, so maybe I'm just rambling about nothing.

I think you can see, in the context of the rest of the post, why that (incorrect) read would've been interpreted as contrite and unnecessary.

But honestly this just brings up the bigger picture of:

1) Gamergate is scum
2) Twitter outrage is getting ridiculous and turns victims into twice-victims. Zoe Quinn was hurt, then she's being hurt again. Give me a break, Gamergate.

Go back and read my previous posts. The only thing I said in regards to her specifically is that my (incorrect) reading of her tweet suggested that she was being unacceptably contrite about it. But she wasn't. So there it is.
