I swear I saw one just the other day... anyway, I just finished the original series. I was totally in until those last two episodes. What a bunch of pretentious nonsense. It really kinda killed my overall feeling about the show.

I know opinions seem to mixed about the stuff that comes after the series, but what's next? There's a few movies or something right?

I'm assuming you have seen The End of Evangelion movie yet? If not, that comes next and is a must watch.

...Yeah, that about covers everything important. The other Eva movies are recaps or are part of the reboot series.

Yeah, you have to watch end of evangelion. it essentially rewinds to about episode 22 or 23 and picks up from there with a more traditional storyline before reaching an actual conclusion

If it makes you feel better, the last 2 episodes are so different because they ran out of funding, and only after the show was such a success did they clear the budget for a movie

Now that I've seen EoE, I've actually come to appreciate episodes 24 and 25 for being so different. I was as disappointed as you at first

It's a movie consisting of the first 24 episodes of the TV series edited down to about 70 minutes followed by End of Evangelion. If you've seen the series there's no real reason to watch it unless you're really bored.

So I watched the movie. Definitely a better ending to the series but still very wtf. And that ending was strange af. I thought it was a very strange coincidence that Gamegrumps talked about it on today's episode lol.

Evangelion is my favorite anime, EoE and Episodes 25/26 both have their merits IMO, though I prefer End of Evangelion.
