How old were you when it happened? I was in the 2nd grade so I think I was 7 as I have a December birthday.

9 and I was in third grade library class probably learning about the Dewey decimal system method of arranging books which is probably obsolete now. I had square pizza for lunch after that with a carton of 1% milk

Eight years old. 3rd grade.

Will never forget how crazy that day was. My teacher stormed out of the room to meet with the other teachers in the hall. Then she came back in and turned on the TV. We watched the second plane hit.

I ended up messaging that teacher on FB to tell her how I think of her every year around this time. She said she does the same; that it was her first class as a teacher (she was young, fresh out of college) and didn't know whether putting it on was inappropriate or if it was for too long. I told her she did just right and that I, and many others who have spoken about it, appreciated it. We all grew up together that moment.

That's pretty awesome of you to do dude. Was also I think the right move for her.

Born in '84, so I was 16 (almost 17) when it happened.

I remember spending most of the day hanging with my friend in the school library. I was a library assistant during the class period when it happened, and the school basically just told everyone that they were allowed to go be with their friends for the rest of the day wherever they wanted, as long as they stayed out of the halls. So my buddy and I grabbed a computer and he introduced me to CE and LUE, where we spent pretty much the rest of the day posting. I finally made my own message board account the next day, as I'd been using the site for a couple years for the guides but had no idea the message board community was even a thing.

On the plus side, it's hard to forget my account anniversary. :-/

I was 16. My dad had the news on as I was getting ready to leave for school. Saw the second plane hit. Found out at school that the towers collapsed. They sent us all home at lunch.

5th grader.

My school didn't actually bring it up, or if it was being talked about I missed it somehow. I didn't find out what was going on until I got back home after what was a typical day of school for me, and was greeted by my mom crying in front of the TV with the news on.

I was 14 in 8th grade. I remember athletics was first period that year so we were all chilling out on the field basically unsupervised like always and then suddenly we got led inside super early and nobody would tell us why. Then they took us in and every classroom had a tv playing the news broadcast. My mom ended up picking me up early

they really drilled it into kids heads how important and big it was the way they treated it

I was 19. Going to start college in a couple weeks. I didn't work until late afternoon that day so was sleeping in, my dad worked third shift at the time and my mom was already at work, but my dad woke me up before he went to bed to tell me a plane had hit the WTC. And, like a lot of people, and like the news was saying at first, I just assumed it was a tiny private plane and either a bad pilot or a suicidal dude but figured it wasn't really a big deal and while some people right in that spot could've been hurt or killed it wasn't like a huge huge disaster. So I wondered why my dad bothered waking me up for that. But I was awake so I went in the living room to watch the news and I think at that point some people who were there called in and said it looked like a passenger plane, and pretty soon after I was watching the second plane hit.

I remember the news was all pretty nuts that day, like obviously now we know the end result, but they were having alerts about things that never actually happened, like a fire at the White House and other targets being hit that weren't actually, and at first they thought maybe it was a bomb at the pentagon, etc.

I was watching a different network and didn't see it live, but at some point later I watched the CNN broadcast from the day and one anchor kept going on about how it must be a radar problem in the planes that was drawing them to that spot, and the aviation expert on the phone was getting annoyed with correcting him constantly that it wasn't possible >_>

But yeah, watched news all day until work. Work was a ghost town.

Then I flew to NYC and hung out with Trump watching Ariabian people celebrate in the streets.
