It's ok, some people really liked it. I really like superhero shows, but this one was only decent to me, and I would't rewatch it (even when/if a second season comes out, I'll just watch the second season, not rewatch the first).

Worth watching once though I think.

Very good. Not like the comics if that's what you're asking. Homelander was still awesome (as in well written/acted). That actor deserves all the credit.

I guess that's a really good point. It's not actually a superhero show in the normal sense. It's more of a social commentary (satirical) show that uses superheros as it's platform. That sounds like it's trying to be deeper than it is, but I think it's fitting to the source material even if it is "updated" a little.

I know that the comics were kinda crap, but the trailers made it look appealing.

I never read the comics but I like the show. Got one more episode to go before I'm done with the first season

I found it very entertaining. I agree that the Homelander character is well written and acted. And Karl Urban is cool too.

I was actually surprised that I liked it. Seemed like it would be either hokey or over the top. Definitely has some room to grow, but its better than most prime shows.

As someone who doesn't like superhero stuff that isn't Batman, I liked it alot. Some of the dialogue(mostly from one character) falls flat and the few attempts at humor fall even harder, but besides that it's great.

Is it anything like Preacher in tone? I know Seth Rogen was a large part of the development of both shows.

The Boys is a good show, but as a comic, "meh"......it's not really a unique take on the superhero genre, as there have been many other takes on the "ironic" superhero genre. ...Like "Watchmen", or "Rising Stars".

Rising Stars is a good series I'd wish to be turned into a show. Asking "what if superheroes ACTUALLY existed in the real world?"... one would figure since J. Michael Straczynski's ties to TV (like Murder, She Wrote and Babylon 5) he'd get this story green-lit.

Don't know anything about the comic and I usually hate the made for TV superhero shit, but I'm quite enjoying it. About halfway through the first season.

I think at least they were going to make Rising STars into a movie, but I have not heard about it in awhile.
