Question: How would you deal with a stalker? The guy sought out every last post I made so he could harass me, hunted me down on social media, and was a bigger asshole than TimJab. He is a legit danger to our safety, and I hope he's never coming back here.

I was nave and immature. But I was also being stalked and harassed by a next-level cyberbully so much that I lost my composure. I'm aware that it's letting him win at this point in time, but now that the ignore and block lists are in place, I have all three of his known accounts on there (TTT, Voldoman, and now Shaduln) and never intend to take them off.

I'm sorry if anyone other than TTT was offended. I hope that's understandable.

well, even if the social media thing didn't happen, i was there and i definitely remember turn insulting andy in pretty much every single topic he posted in. while i personally don't like to throw the term "stalking" around, i've had several users act like this towards me as well over the years so i know how annoying it can get.

that being said, andy certainly was no saint at the time either - he insulted turn a lot as well. hard to say who was primarily at fault in that rivalry.

It wasn't but in the absence of memory either way if you're asking me to choose whether it's more likely some dude who seemed pretty normal stalked a guy who clearly had some issues, or said guy with issues interpreted something that was maybe moderate harassment at the worst as stalking because he clearly had some issues, I'm going with the latter.

He sent me a Facebook friend request, despite my real last name not being public knowledge on the board at the time. I blocked his ass because I knew what he was going to do, so thankfully it didn't amount to much. But the fact that he sought me out on other sites is legitimately concerning.

I also went and claimed dead Commodore 64 boards to hide at times, but the jerkwad Googled my username and this site just so he could find wherever I was posting to berate me. Nowhere was safe for me, and I legit felt scared. This fear is why I remembered his real name when he posted in the "What's your last name?" topic (which I didn't because I didn't want him to find me).

After a few months, I had enough, and just lashed out at him. Sadly, the board took his side despite him being the villain. I took one of my many leaves of absence from this place. And, because the mods here didn't ban his ass like any other site would have, he continued his behaviors.

It's very traumatizing for me to discuss. He was truly one of the most vile human beings I've ever seen anywhere, and I hope that karma finally caught up with him in some capacity.

I don't remember the beef with SpikeDragon. Whatever it was, I am over it.

I admit I had some issues back then, and being stalked only served to make them worse. I don't remember how the rivalry with Turn started, but he went out of his way to berate me every time I posted. I acted in defense. If only we had the ignore list back then, that wouldn't have happened. I was legit concerned for my safety.

yeah, the problem there was that aside from the trolling, turn was a pretty cool guy while you did a lot of questionable stuff at the time (that i probably needn't bring up now). but while i didn't speak out about it at the time, i was never a fan of turn trolling you. it's not that i can never appreciate trolling - horatio, shake and MYC were great at it. but i felt like turn going after you was like taking candy from a baby - you were always such an easy target to go after.

but yeah, board 8 in general was just an incredibly toxic place at the time. for all its flaws, i think the board has improved a lot in that regard (probably because we're now mostly a bunch of guys in our thirties).

If only people had stood up against the bully, things could've improved for me. I don't know why I kept coming back after each hiatus. He didn't just go after me - he went after the jp and Vlado constantly as well. JP closed his account because of Turn's bullying. And let's face it: JP didn't do anything wrong as long as I was here. It was the board holding onto an old grudge.

With me, people still weren't over the Solano Incident, which I only did because I didn't know the history of the joke. I would not have done any of that, even back then, if I'd been aware. I thought it was a legit contest bonus match. Was just a noob being a noob.

At the very least, the harassment fueled my desire to troll here. And there were times when I was good at it, like Tifa Tequifa and ertyumom. Other times... not so much lol. There's a fine line between trolling and harassment. I know that truly good trolling doesn't go after someone in particular; it takes advantage people's innate psychological desires. It's why, as ertyumom, I was trolling the whole board and giving ertyu the attention he wanted while not crossing a line.

And lastly, thank you, Lasa. It feels reassuring to know that even if they were silent, I had some people on my side.

I've tried to block out UOTY from my memory, so thanks for reminding me. Back then, all I wanted was to advance to the second round. Never happened, so I started withdrawing myself from the thing. I am so glad Steiner killed that drama-fest.

But yeah, that was a good indicator of a lot of things back in that time. A lot's changed since then.
