Currently stuck at a dead end job making 75k a year in the finance industry. There's no room for growth in my company and I can't even get a phone screen on the applications I send out. I think employers are once again expecting tailored cover letters with a resume. It shouldnt hurt. Consider including reference letters. Ask your managers to write one for you. Respected peers, etc. Are you involved in your community at all? See if you can work that in somehow, depending on the employer.
