Same, although I checked it out after Next and it's crazy how much they've added to the game. And it's all been free updates. Beyond looks cool but I've moved on to other games. I might fire it up to check out the new stuff though

It's honourable that they're continuing to update and improve the game.

That being said, the lack of content in the launch version has soured my experience of the game so greatly that I haven't been able to enjoy any of these updates.

It deserved all of that shit and more.

Though a lot of people have praised the game after all of the endless updates and add-ons, because there's more content, and it's closer to what people expected the game to be in the first place, and not just a bare-bones early access-style framework that feels empty and kind of pointless. So someone coming in now is much more likely to enjoy it than someone who bought it at launch.

To be honest, though, that's how I feel about most games these days - you're almost better off just waiting a year for multiple patches and DLC content to improve the base game, because too many games are launching underserved and buggy as hell.

If the morons behind the game didn't spend 24/7 hyping the game up to an extreme level it would have been received a bit better at launch. I remember the interviews where they went out of their way to talk about how great it would be and how it had so much unique content over it's millions of galaxies or some shit.

It's like they wanted to build hype levels as high as possible for some reason when they knew they couldn't deliver on even 10% of that hype.

If I had a dollar every-time I read or heard the "This game launched as a pile of shit but now it's really good guys I swear!" line I'd have a couple hundred dollars. No offense, but I'm extremely cynical as a result of being a victim of Peter Molyneux.

But I feel like it's a bad sign when a game, only years after release comes to realize some of what it's pitch was.

Name some.

The game has had 6 major updates with a couple dozen smaller ones:
