For starters, babies dont catch yawns children start catching yawning around the age of four or five (around the same time they start developing empathy). I also willingly absorb as much pain from the world as possible every living second. Now emotions can be carried over a digital medium, but in these cases there are no emotions at play, just a body reaction. Seeing other body reactions, such as something scratching it's nose, or licking its lips etc, does not cause humans to imitate the reaction. Therefore, I propose that yawning is a visual (and possibly audio) stimulation that triggers past experiences (yawning yourself) and causes you to yawn currently. Another quick example would be that READING about someone yawning does not cause you to yawn, empathy though will often cause you to cry, or laugh etc based on reading about someone doing the same.
