This is probably his most divisive film to date, so far as audience expectations were concerned. I've seen everything from outright hating it to absolutely loving it.

It's good but I'd put it towards the bottom. It's one that I probably won't watch again unless I'm really itching to see the back of people's heads as they drive around.

Im not sure if I liked it because its a good movie or if because Brad and Leo were so likeable as characters. It felt like a love letter to a bygon era, with Quentin using the Manson murders to symbolize its death. With the caveat that Brad and Leo kick their asses. Seemed to be a stance that movies arent dead. Violence isnt dead. Hes talking to his critics and critics of action movies in general.

pretty good analysis
i thought the whole thing made the entire tate storyline entirely inconsequential at the end, but through this lens she had to stay alive and the set-up of her character matters so she can welcome leo/what he represents into the new age
